Ahhhhh, Chincoteague Island - the smell of Salt Marsh in the air - the visions of our Wild Ponies wandering through the Refuge. Once you visit our beautiful Island, it stays with you forever. But life is so busy - it's hard to get away for a whole week every year, isn't it? Or maybe you're one who prefers to take many shorter trips over the course of the year - a Weekend Warrior, if you will? If so, the Assateague Inn was made for you. Whether you'd like to visit for 3 nights or 11, we're here to make your time in Paradise as memorable as possible. 

Our Studio Suites have a Private Bedroom with queen size bed, and a separate living room with queen sleeper sofa. There is also a spacious Full Bath, and a Kitchenette fully equipped with cookware and dishes, 2 burner stove top, mini refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster and eating area. Our Studio Suites accommodate up to five guests. Relax in the AC and enjoy Flat Screen Cable TV and Free WiFi after a fun-filled day on the Beach, or slip out to the refreshing Pool to cool off. 

The Inn is located directly on the Creek, and is a great spot for Crabbing, or simply taking in the Herons and Egrets fishing for their morning meals. Located just off of Maddox Boulevard, you're only a short bike or car ride from Mini Golf, Dining, and of course, Assateague National Seashore! When you're not enjoying playing on the waterfront, relax on the huge landscaped greens with plenty of Picnic Tables and Barbecue Stations to cook up the Fresh Catch of the Day.

I was a little surprised by the condo. It is an older property, but well-kept. The slider for the front door took me by surprise, and everything was fine once I figured out the key box in the dark. Next time, I need to remember to bring shampoo. It wasn't super clear what parking was on the property. Again, it was dark, and I found a spot that worked great. The place was perfect for a single guy wanting to explore the Chincoteague Wildlife Refuge.

This was in a nice area. Everyone had a great time. Hotel was nice. Everyone was very friendly including the cleaning crew!! The only problem we saw is the decks need updated my niece was crabbing and her foot got caught on a lifted board and she fell in causing her to sink in the swamp up to her waist. We were able to get her out safely but it was a scary moment for sure!!

It was very pleasant. The pool was under maintenance and that would have been nice to have but the communication about it and everything else was very prompt and clear. Would definitely stay here again.

Where's Waldo?

Finding the Inn was like finding Waldo. The address to the Inn leads you to a restaurant parking lot. When we did find the entrance it was a very tiny road and the parking lot was really small. The unit itself needs an upgrade. The carpet had a lot of stains and the air mattress on the sofa bed has a short in the cord. The bedroom has no A/C. The screen door needs to be replaced and the curtains needs an upgrade. The bathroom and kitchen were in pretty good working order. Beautiful view from the porch of the wildlife. Easy access to Assateague Island and many of the museums and restaurants.

Okay Place, but Misleading Posting

The unit was nice and I don’t regret staying there. However, I found that the property listing was very misleading. The VRBO page says it has “2 bedrooms” but the actual unit is only a 1 bedroom with a pull out couch in the living room which somehow counts as the second bedroom. I don’t think it’s correct to list the property as a two bedroom when the reality is much different. The unit was also not as nice as shown. The carpet was very stained, the screen door had duct-taped holes in it, and the bathroom was just superficially cleaned. Overall, we had a great time, but I think there’s some details that could be improved upon.

Second stay- second season-Great time!

Our stay this time was in a different room than last December but just as good! The view was great- location was very convenient. Room clean and orderly. Everything as described. It is perfect for my husband and I, has everything we need. The toaster didn’t work and they replaced it immediately. We stayed two extra days! Loved it! Will definitely book again! Thank you!

Perfect place!

Great location on Chincoteague Island, in between downtown and the beach. Quiet property. Lovely path to small deck, just beware of droppings everywhere!😂 We booked a 2 bedroom through Vrbo, but got there to find only one. Owner knows so this discrepancy should be rectified.Definitely will come back:)
