Wonderful place to stay. LM and GM are great hosts. Place was immaculate and sitting out at night looking at the oyster bars is an amazing experience. Choko is one of the last real Florida experiences left and this property exemplifies it. Thanks again!
The perfect place to get away . The water front was awesome.
Everyday was relaxing
Very comfortable place to stay for a quiet getaway
We will definitely be back .
Lynn and Gary are two of the nicest people.
Thank you so much for sharing your great home
We enjoyed our stay- the house was very clean and had a nice big kitchen with lots of supplies for cooking and food storage. We don't fish but it would be perfect for fishermen or someone with a boat because of the boat ramp. We used it as a base for exploring the nearby parks and went on a couple of tours in the area. Enjoyed drinking coffee on the porch and watching the water, what a view! I was thrilled we saw dolphins twice but we had an even better dolphin experience during our boat tour with Cory at Smallwood General Store. Bring drinking water and bug spray!
This charming cottage was not only a memory maker for us and our two teen grandsons, it reminded us of our childhood days gone by. The boys caught mangrove snapper, catfish and snook from the bank. The view is great, the hot water endless and the beds were comfortable. The hostess was friendly and ready to assist as needed.
We enjoyed our stay so much. My family loved fishing, Python hunting and being outside - the yellow house is set in a beautiful location with a water view out of every window. It is peaceful, lovely and so much fun.
Lynn's home was absolutely beautiful. Incredibly clean, quiet & comfortable. Honestly, the house was immaculately clean! We watched dolphins out front everyday and even had a manatee pop up one evening.
The home was stocked with everything we needed.
We were in town for a tradeshow & work. But coming back to this property each night was so relaxing.
We enjoyed dinners on the deck and had a fire in the waterside fire pit a few nights. (The mosquitoes didn't get bad until after dark!)
We will definitely book this again!
Weâd stay here again. The place is clean, kitchen had everything we needed. The view from the porch is awesome, even saw dolphins & eagle rays. We were so busy otherwise that we didnât get the chance to use the kayaks or bikes located in the basement area.
Just a wonderful stay and the location, views, and home were perfect. It was so peaceful and relaxing. We have a boat and were able to launch right from the homes property and also docked there so it was so easy and convenient for fishing. Highly recommend.
Wonderful Hidden Gem Nestled on the Edge of the Everglades National Park
The McMillan house is incredible! The house is beautifully decorated and has everything you need to enjoy your stay. Kayaks, fishing poles, boat launch, grill, fishing docks, everything is right there at your fingertips for your enjoyment. The McMillan family will show you true southern hospitality. They have been a part of Chokoloskee for quite a few generations and they are all blessed with the gift of storytelling. If you take one of their charters of the local waterways they will share their knowledge in true old Florida fashion. They run the historic Smallwood Store and this is a must see on your stay. You will stand in awe at itâs contents from years gone by. Chokoloskee Island is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the world. On a beautiful starry night on the porch, you can see the milky way and if you listen close enough you can hear the whispers of the ancient Calusa Indians that once inhabited the area. Go for a visit, you will not regret it. Thank you Lynn, Gary, Corey and Nicole for an absolutely amazing week. Weâll see you all very soon!
We can't say enough wonderful things about this home. We spent each morning enjoying coffee on the patio overlooking the bay enjoying the breeze. We were able to enter on boat from the property and dock on the property. Lynn was so kind and helpful, especially since we might be arriving during a possible hurricane. Her son, Captain Cody, was great in answering boating questions and giving us advice for fishing. If you are looking for a slice of old Florida heaven, you have found your spot!
Outstanding property , literally the end of the road on the west shore of Florida Gulf. Unmatched location , great owners / managers onsite. Fishing was slow due to full moon and our inexperience. We used the boat dock and the Owners graciously provided buoy bumpers for our new bay boat maiden voyage.
We will come back ! Hopefully for a few weeks next winter ! Certainly exceeded our expectations !
