We visited for a wedding and thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay here. The property was clean, the staff was friendly, and the location was perfectly centered in the middle of all the activities we chose to do during our stay. If we return to Cincinatti we will definitely book this hotel again.

Our whirlpool tub would not drain and was dirty. The toilet would not flush and was about to overflow. I called the front desk and waited an hour. No one came. We went to the front desk and spoke to a manager who sent us up a really young "engineer" who's solution was to just shut off our water and not come back. 12 hours with a non flushing toilet. Absolutely ridiculous. Stopped at front desk the next morning and was assured I would get a refund and that has not happened.

Upon arrival at 6:00 pm we were informed that the hotels air conditioning was out and we had been moved to a neighboring Hampton Inn. No attempt was made to contact us in advance, nor were any concessions offered. We declined this offer as we were not going to pay the same rate for a Hampton inn with minimal amenities. I am still working with hotels.com to try to get my money refunded because it was a non-refundable rate. The management of this hotel left a desk clerk with no ability to actually “fix” this issue for guests and was unreachable. The “Curio” designation should not be given to this hotel.

So so.

AC in room was not working the 2nd day. Tried to call front desk, no one answered. Bathtub is tough to get in and out of and very slippery, good pressure but very difficult to get a good temperature. Tub filled up with water on just shower as well. Bed was comfortable and room was clean.

The hotel is 140 years old and you can most definitely tell despite it being cosmetically updated. Be prepared for the crown moulding to fall apart; the shower to be unsafely hot and noisy; the ice machines to stop working in the AM; and the A/C to go out during peak times. We called to report some issues earlier in the day and maintenance let himself in while we were still in the room without advance warning. The desk staff were so kind, but this hotel is absolutely lacking. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere nice like the Marriott or Renaissance nearby. I will not return in the future.
