## Emplacement
Close to the coast, Cogolin is a picturesque Provencal village built on the slopes of the Maures massif.

With a very mild climate all year round, Cogolin is one of the few communes in the Var department that slowly stretches from the land to the shores of the Mediterranean.

Life developed around its fortified enclosure, located in the upper part where still dominates the Clock Tower. This is the remnant of one of the entrances to the wall. This defensive system included the houses and the seigneurial castle. Cogolin, watered by the Giscle and the Môle, flourished, enjoying the riches of its natural environment: the massif des Maures (cork, heather), the fertile land plain (market gardening, canneries) and its hillsides whose vines produce a renowned wine.

Located in the heart of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, the city has now become a popular resort, strong with its heritage, its crafts and its environment. In the immediate vicinity of the beaches of Saint-Tropez and its peninsula, active and lively throughout the year, the city also offers the diversity and quality of its fabric of artisans and traders.
