Unfortunately, this property was not cleaned or ready for us to stay in. Host had to put us into a different property with less beds. It was late at night so we took whatever we could get after we left Franklin Manor. I messaged our host and asked him about some type of compensation for our inconvenience. He was unwilling to do anything and stopped communication. I called Vrbo. They had them on the phone. He ended up hanging up with them and said he wouldnât do anything further. The second house was fine but our host was difficult to work with.
The furniture and the setting in the house was very cheap and felt staged. It looked good from a distance, but Iâm close. It was not what I expected⊠Donât get me wrong. Iâm sure some college students would love this place, but it just wasnât to my standards I shouldâve known When the price was that cheap. You get what you pay for.
PLEASE READ BEFORE RENTING:We arrived to the house after travelling for two days to find it to be dirty. When you first walk in, it looks lovely then upon further inspection you find garbage is still in the garbage cans, no toilet paper in the downstairs bathroom, the sheets on two of the beds missing, insufficient number of towels, hot water not working in two of the bathrooms and the third floor bedroom too hot for anyone to sleep in. The floors were dirty - our white socks turned brown and we had dark black hair on them. We contacted our host who in turn contacted their cleaning company. The cleaning just dropped off two sets of sheets. No additional towels. We were later advised that the towels were in the washing machine and that we could dry them if we needed them. We had to make our own beds. The only remedy we were offered by the owner, half off the cleaning fee!Do not rent this property!
The house was very unkept. There were 2â tall weeds everywhere. The front door lock did not work. the front steps were crumbling. The backyard had not been cut for weeks. There was still dirty dishes and trash in the house. The house was not maintained as the place was generally dirty beyond what daily cleaners would do. The cleaners did not clean the house. (This was apparently a miscommunication with the cleaners.) The house smelled of weed and this was not addressed. We had to flee the house and stay elsewhere. There was apparently a drug and sex party at the house prior to our arrival, noted by the trash that was left behind. The host did provide and alternate place to stay which was acceptable to us. This caused us a lot of stress as we had 4 young children under 10 that we had to relocate late at night after arrival. We have photos that are not family friendly.
Stayed in this house for 2 nights and was very happy with the house. The house was very clean and spacious and provided me and my friends in a great location to all the places we wanted to go. Pri was an amazing host and will be using this house again if ever back in the Columbus area!
The place is very nice and not far from shops and restaurants only issue is hot water only lasted for 2 people and the air coming through front and back door kept the downstairs pretty chilly but we made the best of it had a great time thank you so much
The property was amazing for what I needed. I will definitely book again in the future. The house is gorgeous. The host is super responsive, and the check-in was perfect, no problems at all. The only thing is the parking can get a little tricky if you have more than a few quests. Other than that, there are no complaints.
Our daughter who lives in Columbus was due any day with our first grandchild--and our other daughter lives in Portugal wanted to spend Christmas in the US with her European boyfriend who had never visited the US--so we needed a place for Christmas (we live in Baltimore!) where we could cook for the family and be on call should she go into labor...The whole place is amazing -- like a museum, but a family-friendly, liveable one -- and the kitchen made it! One person could bake dessert, another prepare appetizers, and the rest prepare the meal. And, the pup could run around the fenced-in backyard without worry. And the neighborhood was beautiful decorated for the holidays! We will definitely return! Thank you!
We came to celebrate the Thanksgiving weekend with out OSU kids. We loved the house, it was clean and spacious with plenty of room to spread out. The bedrooms were big and the beds comfy. We really enjoyed the neighborhood.
Great place to stay with family or big group of friends. The property is beautiful and nearby plenty of food/coffe places for brunch. We truly enjoyed our time at the property and the neighbors were also nice. 10/10 would recommend!
We stayed several nights at the property and had a fantastic time. The property is clean, spacious, and has all the amenities needed. It has a sleek, sophisticated vibe but still feels cozy cozy and welcoming. The neighborhood is nice and close to attractions, restaurants, and downtown. We were concerned about the street parking but were able to find close parking spots each day. The host was super responsive and easy to communicate with. Some things to note are that there is one bedroom that is a loft on the third floor and the only bathroom that in not in a bedroom is on the first floor, none of the bedrooms are on the ground floor, and that the stairs, while beautiful, could be tricky to navigate for a small child or elderly adult. Neither of these things were much of an issue for our party but would be something to consider if staying with people who have trouble with stairs or small children. Overall, we liked the house a lot and would stay here again.
