Great Stay!!

This space was great for a weekend in Comfort, TX! We were there for 1 night for a wedding and it was perfect as it was super close to the town and the main st. We loved the African safari theme, we’ve never seen anything like that! We would absolutely stay here again, it was fun to bunk all together in the main room but also have plenty of showers and space to get ready! We loved this property!

I stayed at African Themed Kooyah on Oct. 12, 2024. Unfortunately we experienced a voyeur. Our room had a private courtyard, enclosed by corrugated metal walls. My friends and I sat out there to enjoy the late night evening. As we sat there, we began to hear steps and crunching of the leaves on the ground, coming from the other side of the wall. We assumed it was an animal. We continued to hear the noise for about 45 to 50 minutes. It wasn’t until we heard a thump on the metal wall that we decided to go outside of the enclosure and see what exactly was causing the noise. To our surprise, we discovered a man who apparently had been watching us and listening to our conversations. We were only women staying at this cabin. We screamed at him which caused him to run away and disappear into the darkness. We immediately called the Comfort police and the property host. The officers who arrived did what they could and searched the area. Unfortunately, no one was found. At that point, we were shaken up, upset and no longer felt safe. Shortly before midnight, we packed up our belongings and left the premises. The experience completely ruined our weekend. We requested our money be returned but were denied a refund. It is shocking to me that after all we went through, the property management would deny a refund. I post this to inform of my personal experience. If you in fact decide to stay at this property, please be warned, be safe and take care.

So cool!!

Loved the open bunk style set up and the decor. Two bathrooms was amazing too! The outdoor space was so nice to have - everyone in our group loved the stay. Having a few KIND bars for snacking was a lifesaver, too. :)

The Kooyah unit was awesome. The attention to detail is unmatched and everything is so unique. The layout is perfect for singles or a family. We especially loved the fixtures and industrial plumbing. We also loved the courtyard!

A very brief safari to Africa

We absolutely loved Kooyah! My grandkids said I outdid myself on picking this property even for one night. Great decor
when have you stayed where you had a leopard guarding you overhead? Luxurious and fun.
