My only suggestions would be to have a broom and vacuum available for guests to use. Also, I think it should be noted that the pool is NOT heated. That is information that the renter needs to know. The location of the house is amazing and with a little TLC I think it would be an outstanding rental property!

Overall the house was not really what I expected. There were cobwebs throughout, ants in kitchen, musty smell and pool was missing tiles. The decks need maintenance (multiple people got splinters) and thorny weeds growing through pool deck you had to watch out for. Location was great, easy walk to the beach. Common areas in the house are good size for entire family to be together.

Great location (very short walk to the beach) and very well laid out house! The common spaces were ample and we really appreciated the screened in dining porch off the kitchen. The kitchen itself was surprisingly well appointed and organized - one of the better rental house kitchens we’ve had. The kids loved the layout of their room (and we didn’t need it but there is a pack and play there as well). Check-in and a call to maintenance were easy (and maintenance came within an hour to address our issue). All in all, we really enjoyed our time at the house and would stay again.

Rated it a 4.Pro's are: Great location in Corolla with 5 min walk to beach, nice large pool, large kitchen, nice chairs on deck and a nice screened in outside table and chairs off of kitchen.Con's are: The house itself is all wood and so is the pool deck. These need to have some loving work done to the exterior. I did get a splinter on the pool deck. When I walked into the house first thing I noticed was a strong smell of being musty. It did filter into our blankets and clothes over the week. A lot of cobwebs throughout the house in rooms and bedrooms. There were some ants that congregated inside around the second level door to pool by master bedroom. Bathrooms were ok but could be better. Need a ceiling fan in the main bedroom. It was not very cool in there at night and the bed was pretty high off floor. Overall, it was not what I expected for the price. We would stay again if the house gets some loving care done to it.

Loved the 'Bug! (Family of 4 in September)

We really enjoyed our stay at Doodlebug! The weather wasn't the greatest so it was nice to have such a welcoming and relaxing place. You can not only see the ocean from the top balcony but also hear it- something so calming about the sound of ocean waves. Short walk to the beach- 5 min? We have an 8 year old and a 5 year old so it's hard to tell with faster adult legs how long it really was. Kids really enjoyed swimming in the pool. It's not heated but you know kids, they never cared! The outdoor shower has hot and cold water which was nice to rid outselves of our daily souvenir of sand. We now know where all our missing utensils take their vacation to- here. No need to bring anything like that/plates/cups- they have you covered with a plethora of kitchen things! The only thing we couldn't find was a lid for a frying pan, but not a big deal. We MacGyver'ed it up. The 'doodles' -aka oh my lands y'all have some talented artists in your family- were so fun to look at in each room of the house. Thank you for sharing that part of the house's name and not the bug part. Short drive to restaurants, maybe 5-10 min tops, which is a major plus on a vacation! No worries too, everywhere has you covered on chicken tenders and fries for kids. Mini golf was also a nice addition to our week of fun. We picked the one with a 27 hole course, which can sound 3x too long with little kids but it honestly was so fun, highly recommend! Thankyou for sharing your home with us!

Family Vacation

Overall we really enjoyed the house and it’s location!! It had a great pool with a nice ocean view! We would recommend supplying more dish towels/pot holders for the kitchen and updating the televisions. But that wouldn’t hold us back from staying again in the future.
