You will 'Smile Away' all your everyday stress in this lovely seaside home. See our weekly rates!
Lots of attention to detail, the nice furnishings are
sure to delight your group. Enjoy a good book while sitting on the covered

Three of bedrooms have work place desks and monitors. We have high speed internet (500+Mbs and wireless LAN) and a network printer onsite

Third Floor offers King master, greatroom, a fully stainless kitchen and powder room.

Mid-level has 4 bedrooms (1 is master King w/full bath) 2 full baths and
also has 1 with King and Trundle, 1 with 2 twins, and 1 with 4 Bunks.

Note that the 4 bunks are for children under 75 lbs each. These are not for teens or adults.

First Floor has a gameroom with pool table, wet bar w/full-size refrigerator,
2 Queen bedrooms (both with their own lockout full baths).

This is the second visit to the home. It is a great house plenty of space for everyone. In the kitchen everything you could ever need. The hurricane kept us indoors for one day but didn't have any effect on the house or us. The owner reached out to ensure we were safe and the house was unaffected. I highly recommend this property.

Everything was perfect for our stay. The house was exactly as described in the listing and more than enough for our group of 14. There were plenty of extras: beach chairs, boogie boards, carts, corn hole, bikes, etc. Communication was great with the host, who checked in several times throughout the week to make sure we had everything we needed. The property met our needs very well with the number of bedrooms and baths and overall size. There was enough space for the kids and teens to do what they preferred, yet for us all 17 of us to be together for meal times and games. The pool was a huge hit with the extremely hot weather and we would never commit to another property without one. The Corolla location was nice being on the northern portion of the OBX, not as busy as other locations south. The Host was great and very much on top of every aspect of our stay and wanted to make sure everything was up to or exceeded our expectations. A great host and a great property.

Great week at the beach

We loved the property—great location—easily accessible to get to the beach, stores, restaurants and bike paths. We loved riding bikes from the property over to the lighthouse and around Corolla. John was an excellent host and communicator. The property had a great amount of indoor and outdoor space for our group of 10. We enjoyed that the property had lots of games and puzzles as we are game people! And the kitchen was stocked better than any vrbo I’ve ever been too—you would have anything you need to cook in the kitchen. Also loved that it had two very new fridges to use to store all our food and drinks. Loved all the beach stuff that you could use at the beach that was already there-wagon, chairs, boogie boards. I’d definitely recommend Smileaway to anyone coming to Corolla to vacation.

Couldn't Ask for More

This is the est house in 8 years of renting on OBX. The house was close to the Beach a short walk and very convenient to shopping and dining. We had a great time. The first house cancelled on us and I was a little leery of the revue. I don't know what these people were complaining about the host was very courteous to us and responsive. This house had everything you could want and need. Plenty of bedrooms and baths. The pool and hot tub were clean in great shape. The house had every convenience in the kitchen. The family agreed that this house was a great find. We will be back. Thanks for a great week.

Fabulous family vacation

This was our first vacation with my entire family in many years. The property and the owner, John were absolutely perfect! House is spacious, beautiful and has so much already there to make our stay awesome! I can’t say enough about the house and location. Extremely close to beach and far enough for your own personal space. So many things to do close by. Owner communication was completely on point and extremely quick response to any questions. Perfect for our family. We had 16 total family members. There was plenty room for everyone to do what they wanted The pool and hot tub were a big hit. Ideal location. Short walk to the beach and close to shopping and fun activities. Owner responded quickly to any questions.

Family Connection

This property was perfect for our annual family vacation! We enjoyed the proximity to the boardwalk to the beach in the morning, pool in the afternoon, and the sand volleyball court in the evening. The house was clean and well maintained with lots of room for the family. We also appreciated that the kitchen was well stocked with amenities. This was a multi family vacation. We had 11 adults. Very comfortable location. Short walk over to the beach, and the property has a nice pool and a hot tub. Well maintained and in good shape. Great time was had by all!

Fabulous family fun

Great! Lots to do though rec room games needed a few fixes Pool and volleyball court were wonderful! Most bedrooms great, though bunk room a bit tight for teens; closets too full of things so not enough room for our stuff. But not a huge problem, we just moved a few things around. . Lovely kitchen but a bit crowded with extra things Mr. Carter was very accommodating and got us things quickly when we were missing them. Thank you! We had a memorable week together as a family of 18!

Entire Family Vacation

Smile Away was the perfect place for a vacation with our adult children and their families. A close and easy walk to the beach for all ages and the pool and hot tub were all perfect for our crew. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Plenty of dishes, utensils, pans, and appliances needed for a large crowd. The games were up-to-date and pieces all there which was a pleasant surprise. The layout of all the rooms allowed for privacy for everyone when it was wanted and their was plenty of room when we all wanted to gather. When contacting the owner, communication was quick and helpful. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

Great property, great location, beware the owner

The kitchen is well stocked, the house is spacious. Sleeps 20 means 3 to a king size bed. Not enough pillow cases for the pillows. The owner constantly sent in people to do ‘maintenance’ without warning, even though he knew I had 12 girls in the house. Constantly wanted proof of who was in the house-had to submit drivers licenses twice, had to take pictures in front of the house as proof of being there. He gave the door pin to a stranger who snuck in to count the people in the house and said he didn’t need to explain. We had girls sleeping, dressing and walking around in PJs. He behaves wildly inappropriately. Pity, because it’s a great venue.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at this property! It was clean and easy to check in to. The beds were very comfortable and the set up of the home was easy to accommodate our large family. The kids really enjoyed the pool and easy access yo the beach. There were two nice sized wagons we could take to the beach and load up our chairs and lunch. The house has all the accommodations needed for a big family. We would definitely visit this area of outerbanks again! Favorite coffee shop: The Kind Cup Favorite beach area: coral beach access within the neighborhood. Also 10/10 recommend driving on 4x4 beach to see the wild horses!

Amazing Stay!!!

We loved staying here!! The house is so spacious, the pool and jacuzzi was fun and relaxing, and it was a quick walk to the beach. It’s also located in a very central location, we didn’t have to travel far for food or excursions which was nice. We only wish that the volleyball court was ready for us to play in but other than that, our family made some really great memories there. :)

Property had many amenities which were great however we were all adults and some of us had difficult

Her entire family had a very good time at this property because they were many many amenities and the pool was lovely however the property needs a lot of updating and a lot of cleaning up when I read on the web about steps to the beach I thought it meant walking there but it actually means lots and lots of steps to go up and down which made it difficult for a lot of us

Great beach house

Beautiful home in a wonderful location. Short walk to the beach. The house had everything we needed for small children and the beach. John was easy to communicate with.
