We loved our time here! The property was just as described in the listing – clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. It felt like a home away from home. Traveling with two young children, we especially appreciated how family-friendly the space was. There was plenty of room for the kids to play, and the layout made it easy to relax as a family. The private pool, short walk to the beach, and proximity to local shops and restaurants were a huge bonus! Highly recommend for families looking for a stress-free beach vacation!

Great getaway!

The property was 100% what the listing mentioned! It was clean and the property manager Rich was very accommodating. He deserves 10 stars alone. He kept in touch with us all week ensuring everything was going well. Great escapes makes the check in and check out process super easy. The walk to the beach is barely .25 miles. The only downfall is that the deck could be beautiful if the boards were not rotted and had nails sticking out. The pool area could be top notch with a few updates. Overall, 4.5 starts!

Average stay!

Fun family vacation but had some hiccups. Nothing special about the property. Great location and loved being able to have the dogs with us. AC went out while we were there which was very frustrating. After a couple days of back and forth and then a company coming out to try and fix it. They ended up getting us multiple AC window units which was appreciated! The cable/internet was not working either. Just seemed like multiple things were wrong that wasn’t being properly monitored or taken care of.

Great pool

Absolutely loved the pool area. Deck needs some major work, lots of staples poking out and nail heads. Had to remove a couple from feet and several rotting boards. If those got fixed it would be an absolutely great property

House was good but could use a few things. They need to clean under furniture. Especially in a dog friend home. Some rotting deck boards that are hazardous. Beach chairs,beach cart and coffee pot need replacing. Other than those things this was a good house and a solid location.

Nice family stay

We had a great stay! The layout of the house is very practical, with 2 bedrooms on each end of the home, and a loft extra room upstairs that was perfect for our oldest child to have her own privacy. Manager was very communicative, easy directions, check in was smooth and house cleaned on arrival. There were a few small cosmetic issues of the home but I'm sure they will be worked out in time. Overall great experience!

Nice house, but

Nice house was not very clean. My dogs ball went under the couch. It was disgusting deck needs to be replaced but they did come out and fix boards when I was there overall a decent place but the maintenance man threw the boards with the screws on the ground and left them there. I had to flip them over so the dog wouldn’t step on them

Perfect Cottage for our family

Had a week of relaxation and family time in the perfect location super easy walk to beach and close to all the shopping! Weather didn’t cooperate much but we still enjoyed the pool and hot tub every chance we got!

Room for improvement

The location and house were fine,there were some things that could use attention,especially in the pool area.Most was cosmetic but could really spruce up the place.We were really impressed with the quick attention we got when we asked to have certain things looked at,but again really nice place that just needs a little attention.

Great Vacation Spot

My Family and I stayed here on the second week of August and thoroughly enjoyed this home. The pool was fantastic, house was clean and close enough to walk to the beach. We really did enjoy this house only thing we had a problem with is the decking. It needs some real love in the off-season. Walking barefooted on it is risky. Wood is splintering and nails/ old screws have popped up and some boards are rotted. Had to clean up kids feet and one of the dogs feet from a puncture wound because of it. Other than that this is a great home.

Perfect Corolla Vacation

This has been the best housing experience that we have had in the outer banks, and we have been to the OBX for over 10 years. Everything was perfect, from the cleanliness of the house, the beautiful pool with the bar and grill area, the neighborhood, and there was even a gift basket with frequently forgotten to pack items like laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, dish soap, TP and more that I am forgetting. What a nice surprise! The house sits away from the beach a bit, but the short walk is so pleasant with a beautiful walkway in place and only takes a few minutes to walk. I plan to stay here again!

Family vacation in the OBX

The house accommodated 9 perfectly - the bedrooms were all good size and the AC worked well on the first floor, but the upstairs loft area was a little warm, but a great hang out area for the teens to play video games. Kitchen was functional. Great dining room area and bar stools. Watched TV in the living room and couches were comfortable. The deck area/rooftop deck area desperately needs repair/renovation. There were nails and loose boards and the deck had a very weathered look to it. I brought up some of these details, as well as the broken beach cart (missing one wheel) and some other minor things to maintenance. The hot tub and pool were great!! Nothing like having those amenities when you get back from the beach. The outdoor patio area around the pool could use more shade. The addition of an umbrella other than the picnic table umbrella would have provided some relief from the blazing sun. Outdoor shower was awesome. The beach was a very short walk only two blocks. Loved the quietness of the neighborhood but lots to do like shops and restaurants just a quick bike ride car ride away. The house was in an excellent location.

Wish we were still there

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wish You Were Here it was a great house, perfect for our family and close enough to the beach that we could comfortably walk to it. The pool and hot tub are huge bonuses and our kids spent almost the whole week in one or the other. We also loved the roof deck as we enjoy watching sunsets and sunrises. Perfect Getaway

Beautiful, with a great beach vibe. Plenty of room. Comfortable seating for larger groups. Kitchen well stocked. The pool and hot tub were a wonderful added bonus. Easy communication with reservation manager. Good to answer all my questions. Had a few things small things that needed to be looked at, emailed that morning and a nice gentleman named Rich called back within the hour and was there that afternoon taking care of everything. He even brought horseshoes. There’s a horseshoe pit and corn hole as well. We had a great time!

We loved the heated pool and hot tub, and the spacious outdoor shower was lovely. We watched the stars on the rooftop deck and had a truly wonderful time. Short walk to beautiful beach. Plenty of bedrooms and seating in the living area.

"No Corona Getaway"

The property was a little dated and too far from the beach. It was very difficult to carry items . The next visit, I would like property on the beach. Otherwise it was a comforting vacation.
