Wonderful stay at The Salty Unicorn! The location is perfect just a short walk to the beach. You can hear the sound of the waves from the cottage. The host was very communicative and answered any questions expeditiously!

Home just as described on website, very easy to check-in. Just me & spouse in our 60's looking for a house with a hot tub, that was the main reason picked this one, also having a pool table was a bonus. The house has been remodeled beautifully, in a very nice neighborhood, in walking distance to beach access. Could hear the ocean on top deck, was very quiet, nobody in houses on either side of us. Also, very close to restaurants and shopping. Highly recommend this property.

Highly Recommend!

My husband and I, along with another couple enjoyed our stay at the Salty Unicorn. It was clean, well equipped, comfortable and a short walk to the beach. I highly recommend this property to others and would stay again when we are in the area!

Information at top of this page is not correct. We checked in on 5.13 and checked out on 5.20. VRBO site allowed us to book for a short stay, then days later was informed we needed to stay for a full week at an additional cost. Someone needs to do better to ensure accuracy of property information. Had I not already paid for the shorter stay I would have made a different property selection that would have fit the dates I wanted. Did not appear that property was swept or vacuumed prior to our stay. Bugs beside bed on 1st floor, broken shells on floor near entry table. Used water bottle left in shower on 1st floor. Multiple emails the day prior to departure made us feel rushed to leave the property so it could be cleaned vs allowing us to leave at stated check out time.

Wonderful stay

Our family of 4, which includes 2 teenage sons, absolutely loved our stay here. From relaxing in the hot tub to friendly pool table competitions, this location was just right for us! The short walk to the beach was no problem. We loved our first trip to Corolla!

Salty yet sweet

The more I travel to the OBX in the off-season the less I want to go in summer. Six inches of snow fell the night before we arrived. We did have to shovel the decks; however, the Salty Unicorn was warm and ready for our arrival. The hot tub was hot and freshly cleaned as well which was perfect with the weather. Two minute walk to the beach, two minute drive to the grocery store. And even in deep off-season there were plenty of restaurants to choose from. Lots of media options included at the house and the pool table made for plenty of distractions when not walking the beach.

Beautiful remodeled beach cottage, and in the middle of it all

First trip to OBX and couldn't have picked a better vacation stay. Remodeled inside and out, just the right size for a small group, very well-appointed with all the comforts of home, just steps from Corolla Beach and a short, easy bike ride to all of Corolla's markets and attractions.
