Welcome to the iconic Double Barr Cottages! Double Barr has been a favorite of Port A visitors for generations and is perfect for a quick beach getaway, a fishing trip, or family fun. Located just a couple of blocks from the beach in the "golf cart zone", you can walk, bike, or take a cart to the beach, fishing, or the many shops, restaurants, and other attractions downtown. The property has free parking, outdoor dining areas, and gas BBQ grills. An on-site laundry is available for guests.

Cottage #7 (Sail Away) has been recently updated with a new configuration, and new furnishings. The cottage has a private fenced yard that's perfect for dog lovers. When you enter, you'll find a kitchenette and a dining area that seats four. The main room has a retro vibe that will take you back to the Port A's historic past. The kitchen includes a refrigerator/freezer, gas stove, microwave, a coffee station, and all of the kitchen basics.

This beachy cabin has a kitchen equipped with everything you need, including pots, pans, dishes and utensils. The kitchen includes a refrigerator/freezer, gas stove, microwave, toaster, a coffee station. While we supply pots, pans, dishes and utensils, we do not supply any reusable basics such a oil, spices, or condiments for safety concerns. Towels for use in the house only, linens, and basic soaps are also provided.

Sail Away now has a separate living area with a sleeper sofa, a coffee table, and additional seating to give you a place to relax and catch a movie after a day at the beach. Whether you're in town for a weekend or several weeks, the living room gives you a comfortable space to watch television, play a game, or read. The couch folds out into a full sized bed to sleep 2 small adults or children. A smart television and wireless internet are included.

The bedroom is next to the living area and sleeps two guests. It has a queen bed and cable television. Next to the bedroom is the full bath with walk-in shower. Towels, linens, and basic soaps are provided.

Outside, you'll find a picnic table that's perfect for relaxing or spending time with your four-legged friend.

There is parking for two small vehicles next to the cottage. There is overflow parking available for oversize vehicles, boat trailers, or extra vehicles. Please inquire about availability of additional parking.

The cottage has window air-conditioning units and gas heat. Guests can use the outdoor picnic areas and gas BBQ grills. The guest laundry with 2 sets of washer/dryers is available.

Double Barr Cottages is dog-friendly subject to weight and breed limitations. We welcome well-behaved, adult dogs and ask that you clean up after them outside and kennel them if left alone in the cabin for an extended period. There is a pet cleaning fee of $50 per pet per stay. If you plan on bringing a dog, please let us know the weight and breed so we can pre-approve their stay with you.

This little cottage was perfect, close to the best beach in Texas, close to all the downtown restaurants, and yet far enough away to get a quiet night's sleep. Very comfortable and cozy place and we'll definitely return!!!

This cottage is in a great location. Walkable to some restaurants and coffee shops.The pictures on the website are accurate but there are a few things that need attention:1. AC in the living room is loud. My daughter slept there and struggled to hear the TV when she was relaxing.2. The sofa is stained. It needs deep cleaning.3. Bed sheets (i.e. flat sheets) for the sofa would have been nice. My daughter had to use quilt bedspreads and one of them was also stained.We liked the small fenced in yard that we used for our dog. Move out instructions were simple which is always a good thing.Owners were responsive via VRBO contact and also when I called to ask about the sofa sheets.It’s definitely a no frills place which is made clear from the photos.
