Druid Cottage is a recently renovated charming 200 year-old farm cottage nestled in the heart of County Clare, with all the sights nearby. Its welcoming atmosphere and the tranquility of its rural setting creates a peaceful stay and a cosy retreat after a busy day of sight seeing adventure. With the lack of light pollution and on a clear cloudless night, its possible to enjoy a memorable night of Star gazing!

The cozy interior features a mezzanine bedroom with a rustic ladder and a comfortable double mattress, while a double pull-out sofa in the main room offers an alternative sleeping arrangement. Guests love the added bonus of the Blackout blinds, to help ensure a good nights sleep!

High-speed fiber optic broadband internet makes it also ideal for remote workers.

The kitchen is stocked with essentials like tea, coffee, and condiments. Seasonal organic vegetables, milk, cheese, and
yogurt are available from a nearby organic farm. .

Laundry, for your comfort the machines are installed in the nearby out house. The first wash is free but subsequent washes are €5 and the dryer is €7 per load. The cottage is equipped with an outdoor clothes line and indoor drying rack.

Note that while the cottage lacks a TV, it offers a truly nature-focused experience, perfect for those looking to disconnect and unwind by the wood burning stove or in the garden.

Enjoy the Clare hiking trails through scenery of high and low rolling hills or breathtaking coastal paths.
Bunratty Castle and folk Park, Knappogue castle, the Burren National Park, Lough Derg and the coastal Wild Atlantic Way. Limerick and Galway cities are also within easy reach, just under an hour from the cottage.

The combination of comfort, rustic charm and proximity to the scenic beauty of County Clare, makes it an unforgettable getaway.

Friendly outdoor cats Mizu and Grace roam the yard, adding to the homely atmosphere.

A beautiful place to stay at

The cottage is located east of the burren but within easy driving range (~30min to the Burren, ~60min to the Cliffs of Moher) it is an absolutely great place for relaxing, and the host (Stephanie) is really great and very friendly. We really enjoyed staying there and we surely will be back. The peppers in Feakle offers great live music and good food including breakfast.

Lovely and charming little cottage

Love it ! Very quiet, clean and peaceful place in the middle of the country, beautifully decorated. Everything we needed was there. The flowers in front of the cottage are beautiful and it was very pleasant to eat outside when the weather allowed it! The host, Stephanie is very nice, kind and caring. Was like a delightful step back in time. Peaceful! Loved the countryside. Local cows became friends. Learned about using turf in stove. We loved it! Very easy to start! Stephanie was wonderful and made some reservations for us as well as providing turf for our first night when stores were closed. Lovely village!

Great stay at the "Druid Cottage"

We stayed here for 6 days and it was wonderful. The cottage is super cozy and has everything you need. The communication with Steph was perfect all the time and she was always helpful. The cottage is a bit far off in the nature so you'd definitely want to have a car for your stay. It's a 1- 1 and 1/2 hour drive to different touristic places like Cliffs of Mother, Spanish Point etc but I would recommend everyone to visit the cliffs of Kilkee, because it is much more beautiful and not that crowded. All in all a wonderful cottage with a wonderful host. Thank you Steph 😊

A Little Gem

This little cottage is within easy distance for day trips to many towns and attractions. It retains an old world charm while providing everything needed for a comfortable stay. As an older couple, we were unable to make use of the bedroom area but we used the bed settee, leaving it made up throughout our stay, and still had plenty of room. The single track roads in the area take a bit of getting used to but are easily negotiated with a bit of patience. Stephanie, the host, was very friendly and informative about the area, offering suggestions of suitable places to visit. Thank you for helping make our visit so enjoyable!

Cozy, peaceful, rejuvenating haven after busy tourist days!

Druid Cottage is a peaceful haven! At first we were concerned that it seemed far from everything but actually it’s just far enough!!! Tucked against a hill in farm country...a short walk up the hill and there are gorgeous views of the hills and valley and even the lake. We loved that Stephanie recycles and composts and there’s an organic farm stand at the end of her drive. Stephanie went out her way to make us feel welcome and gave great advise on things to do and see, places to shop and eat. We were so sorry to leave and hope someday to return! Thank you Stephanie!

Der Aufenthalt im Cottage war trotz des regnerischen Wetters traumhaft. Das HĂ€uschen ist Ă€ußerst gemĂŒtlich und freundlich eingerichtet. Auf Details wurde viel Wert gelegt, was zur allgemeinen WohlfĂŒhlatmosphĂ€re beigetragen hat. Gerne hĂ€tte ich eine lĂ€ngere Zeit dort verbracht, denn ich lese gerne und kann mich gut allein beschĂ€ftigten. - Das das HĂ€uschen etwas abgelegen liegt, eignet es sich besonders gut fĂŒr RĂŒckzugstage. Weniger als Standort fĂŒr viele AusflĂŒge, denn die Single-Track-Roads sind gewöhnungsbedĂŒrftig. Besonders nett und zuvorkommend ist die liebenswĂŒrdige Vermieterin, die nebenan wohnt und es versteht, sowohl die notwendige NĂ€he aufzubauen, als auch Distanz zu wahren. Ich wĂŒrde dort sehr gerne nochmal zum Relaxen verweilen. Gerne im Regen.

Enchanting Cottage Tucked into Clare Countryside

My Husband and I stayed at Druid Cottage for three weeks in October and could not have hoped for a more charming, relaxing hideaway. The space is very cozy, with many thoughtful details. The kitchen is well stocked with essentials, so it’s very easy to prepare meals making use of the fresh organic vegetables from the farm stand across the quiet country road or the fresh dairy and eggs (all from Glendree Organic Farm) just a 3 minute walk from the cottage. There is a sweet cat, Smudge who lives on the property. She is very cute and friendly, and we enjoyed visiting with her and the host, Stephanie. The location is great, as it is out of the way enough to be peaceful, but only a 10 minute drive to Tulla, where you can pick up grocery essentials, fuel for the wood stove, or grab a pint. If you are looking for more of a city vibe, Ennis is just 30 minutes away and Galway is just over an hour. Due to the location, you will definitely want to have a vehicle. Stephanie provides detailed info on walking trails and fun historical sights all around county Clare. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We can’t wait to come back and visit Stephanie and Smudge soon!

Absolutely stunning cottage in a beautiful area of Ireland. Highly recommend for anyone looking to get away for a quiet break, Stephanie is very helpful and a lovely host.

GemĂŒtliches kleines Cottage, nette Gastgeberin, schöne lĂ€ndliche Umgebung. Ist allerdings eher etwas fĂŒr wĂ€rmere Tage, da das Bad keine Heizung hat.

Inmitten von Feldern, Mauern, Steinen, Wiesen und WĂ€ldern liegt dieses traumhafte cottage ... es ist perfekt fĂŒr die Zweisamkeit, Ruhe, zum runter kommen und wer das einfache und schöne liebt. Stephanie ist total herzlich und hat das Domizil mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Clare hat viel Natur zu bieten und es ist nicht weit bis Galway zum Atlantik ... CU next Time / Manu und Marko

The perfect place for a quiet week off the grid

This small cottage is like a cozy refuge to get away from every-day life. It is so quiet out there, you almost won't believe it. And yet (if you have a car) you can get into town in 10 minutes. Being quite central in Claire County, it also can be a good starting point for day-trips around the country.

Our Druid cottage stay.

Loved being in the country instead of a busy city. Very peaceful. Great cottage. Very friendly and helpful hostess. Would recommend to any one.

Druid Cottage

This little cottage FAR exceeded my expectations. It was an absolutely perfect location, and made a great ‘home base’ from which to explore the area and take in the traditional music for which East Clare is so well known. Steph was a welcoming and responsive host, and I hope to come back; it truly feels like home!
