Decent hotel, pet friendly rooms, poor wifi, noise

Pros: Pet friendly. Good location. Grocery store next door.

Cons: Service industry staff should not look down on their customers. Banquet hall noise levels should be reduced, particularly the use of sub-woofers.

Location: Wonderful location if you are an outdoor person.

We booked the pet friendly room and the staff were nice enough to offer us a dog bed and water bowl. The room smelled a little of cat urine, but I guess that goes with the territory. The only real problem we had with our stay was the wifi. It would spontaneously stop producing data on all of our devices for hours at a time. The afternoon shift staff were quite rude to us when we reported this, talking down at us like we were less intelligent than they were, and basically telling us it was a problem with our devices because they had a "green light" on their end. The evening shift staff were more helpful, and dispatched a maintenance person upstairs to reset the equipment, which restored service. Our room was also directly over a banquet facility, and on Saturday night there was a wedding featuring booming, driving bass speakers up to midnight. We had a cycling race in the morning and had to go to bed by 9pm. Also, the smoking crowd was just under our window with associated fumes and noise. So if you don't mind certain staff who think their customers are below them, spotty internet service, and weekend evening noise, this hotel could be a good value for you in a beautiful location.

Won't Stay There Again...

I recently went on a trip with four close friends to go snowboarding in Fernie. I booked us at the Best Western. I've never had a problem at any other Best Western before. This one was horrible and none of my party will be staying there again. The room was incorrect to begin with. It did not match what I had booked online. There were no other rooms available so we had to deal with that right off the get-go. I was not offered any compensation or price decrease at all! Nothing! When I asked for a free cot, I was told that I had to pay full price for that as well. The room we stayed in had bad decor and was VERY small. The photos online are VERY misleading. The Boston Pizza that is attached had the absolute worst service I've had in my life! We waited 45 minutes to receive three appetizers delivered to our room. When the restaurant is attached to the hotel! It was absolutely ridiculous and the worst service I've ever had from a hotel. I may never stay at the Best Western ever again!
