The King Davis House welcomes our guests. This is a family-owned home and was one of the first homes built on Mt. Crested Butte. It is very warm, comfortable and inviting. But, don't take our word for it, look at the reviews and our photos! We have lots of return guests after they've stayed at the King Davis House. Some people have even nicknamed it "The Moose House" because of our Canadian Moose named Fred that livens up the living room. The fully equipped 5,000 square foot house sleeps 12 people in 5 bedrooms; featuring dual primary suites, one is upstairs and the other is downstairs. There are 4.5 bathrooms, 2 decks and a 2 car garage. There is parking for 8 total vehicles in the driveway and garage. It is ideal for large groups or families that like to be together but also like to have their own private bedroom suite for privacy. Read about each room on our listing.

When you walk in the front door there is plenty of space to have a seat, kick of your shoes, hang your coats, hoodies & jackets, store your ski boots and skis in the spacious entry hall. The upper floor is an open floor plan with plenty of different seating areas and a pool table. The living room has a large, wood-burning fireplace. Wood is provided as part of the rental. We are pretty sure you will be amazed at the 180-degree views of Mt. Crested Butte and the surrounding mountains from the windows that runs from the kitchen to the living room. You'll immediately want to go out on the deck to grab photos of the beauty surrounding the house. When you're ready to come back inside, get comfy on the new leather sectional sofa (not pictured. purchased in Summer 2024) and watch a movie or anything on TV with cable. The kitchen is fully equipped with anything you could need to prepare a feast or just make a sandwich. It is open to the living area and the dining room is attached to the kitchen. The dining table can accommodate 10 and there are 2 barstools on the peninsula for extra seating. We would love to have you stay at the King Davis House!

we loved staying at this house so much! the kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cooking supplies, the views were beautiful, the living space is huge, and the pool table was really fun. lots of seating in the living space including a huge sectional couch, a big two person chair, 4 other chairs around another coffee table, and another table you can sit at. that’s just in the living room! there’s also a dining table with good seating too. a rare find to have such a great hang out space!also, every room except the bunk room has a private bathroom attached, which was amazing. and there’s an extra bathroom upstairs the bunk room could use. also most of the bedrooms are downstairs, while the living space is upstairs, so people who went to bed early weren’t affected by any noise from the living room. check in and check out were both super easy. the owners sent us detailed info about everything and were super communicative and easy to get a hold of. the house was super clean when we checked in! also it’s nice that all rooms had bathroom trash cans and trash cans in the room. and the bathrooms had nice puffs tissue boxes — a must in the mountains!lastly, we didn’t have to take any ubers or anything during our stay here because the town has free public transport that picks you up at the house and takes you to the base of the mountain. this is one of the best places our friend group has ever stayed! we will definitely book this place again in the future!

Absolutely perfect location and outlook. Lots of space and the pool table adds to the fun of the stay. Well stocked pantry, comfy beds and well heated day and night. Great to have use of the double garage for our car.The heating furnaces do make a little noise at night and will disturb a light sleeper.Would definitely recommend the house.

The house is perfectly located. 3 minutes drive from base and 8 minutes from town. You can also walk to base, we did this too, and we used the free shuttle bus to town once to experience it but if you have a car, there is lots of parking in town to drive down. The house is super spacious for our big family to hang around all in the main living area. The house was fully stocked making it so easy to stay there. We were at the house for 2 weeks. The views of Mt. CB is what makes this house the best.

A Family vacay to remember

A perfect fit for our stay. The kitchen was well equipped, the bedrooms were comfortable and a good size, and the pool table was a hit! Could not have had better accommodations for our time in Crested Butte.

Everything was great except the bunk beds. Both top and bottom were practically un-sleepable. The top was hard as a rock and woke up two rooms every time the person moved (squeakiest bed ever). The bottom bunk slopes to the center of the room and you feel like you will roll off when you fall asleep. Just can’t give 5 stars when I pay what I did and my kids were fighting over the “back-up” blow-up mattress that I bring with me wherever I go.. Everything else was fantastic.

Perfect Crested Butte Stay – Amazing Home & Host!

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this home in Crested Butte! The house itself is wonderful—spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed with everything we needed. The location couldn’t be better, with easy access to town, trails, and all the best CB has to offer.The amenities were top-notch, from the well-equipped kitchen to the cozy living spaces and great outdoor areas. The Best Place Ever!

A great place for family gatherings. The house is large, comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. The pool table was a big hit as well as the upper and lower decks. Lots of parking and lots of privacy. The owner was gracious and informative. I will definitely come back.

Fantastic Stay

This large, comfortable house was perfect for out family vacation. Six adults, four children with room to spare. Fabulous views off the deck. Well stocked kitchen. Great location in Mt Crested Butte with easy access to town and activities at the ski base. Would definitely return here.

Amazing

This house is absolutely perfect. The owner has thought of everything. The house was stocked, super clean and we never ran out of anything. She has really thought of it all. The shuttle was amazing. Picked us up right at the top of the driveway way and took us to the bottom of the resort area where the ski lifts are. The longest we waited for a ride was 10 minutes. It’s always nice when a VRBO is exactly what the owners says it is. We will be back!

Lovely home base for family wedding

We were in town for my daughter's wedding, and the King Davis House was the perfect place for extended family and friends to stay and reconnect while in town, as well as a great place for the bride & bridesmaids to prepare for the big day. We were looking for a place that had at least one bedroom/bath that could accommodate someone who couldn't handle stairs very often - and this fit the bill with a nice master bedroom/bath on the main level. This house could not have been more stocked, and the supplies provided were so well thought out. Just when we thought we needed something that wasn't there - we found it! I've stayed in my fair share of short term rentals over the years - and this was easily the most wonderfully stocked and organized kitchen I've ever seen. The pool table got almost constant use, and was a great source of entertainment for all. The views are spectacular. And having dedicated bathrooms for nearly all of the bedrooms was so convenient. We love Crested Butte and try to make it to town a few times each year - we'd love to visit the King Davis House again when we travel with a larger group.
