Blue Ridge Avenue Guest House
Welcome to our beautiful guest house located minutes from Davis st, walking trails, and more. This is a very large new guest house with a private entrance. The master is spacious with a queen-size bed. The guest house has a large separate living room with a luxury queen-size sofa sleeper. It's perfect for 2 couples or a family traveling guests to the Shenandoah area or other well-known local areas. Loads of privacy and space. It's well-stocked with your favorite items to get you started.
Kiley is very accommodating. The location was perfect. I could get to town and to the horse show, opposite directions, easily. Great little downtown area with a terrific restaurant called "It's About Thyme."
Well located, comfy and clean. Well appointed kitchen and bedroom and bath. Located very close to the center of Culpepper, very close to Shenandoah NP, DC and Luray Caverns, among others.
Overall it was a great stay! The owners even came and introduced themselves and made everything very accommodating. The ONLY issue we had was the listing said two bedrooms and there is only one actual bedroom but we made it work with the pullout sofa. I recommend this home for sure!
We enjoyed our weekend stay. We were in the area to attend a wedding, visit with friends and check out the local wineryâs. The owners were great with communication. We would stay again.
The listing was inaccurate.
It was not a "home to all to yourself". It is a
mother-in-law apartment. Neither the exterior door or the door to the main home had an interior privacy lock. You share a wall in the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom with the house. We heard their conversations and loud TV. We had no control over heat or cooling as the apart has no thermostat, or independent heat/AC.
Second, this is NOT a 2 bedroom unit. This is one bedroom with a fold out couch in the living room.
Property was not clean when we arrived hours after check-in time and within the window of arrival per our text exchange with the host the previous day. We had to wait outside in the cold, while it was cleaned, while hungry for our dinner. This was disappointing start. The host did refund the cleaning fee to compensate, which was fair.
The host told us we were unwelcome to stay if we either posted the photos of the uncleaned apartment or did not give her a 5 star review. We consider leaving, but it was evening, we were tired and could not find another unit locally with a kitchen.
There were several maintenance issues, like loose boards in the kitchen cabinetry and a detached top for the bedside table. Overall the space was generous, nicely decorated and homey. It was disappointing that the apartment was noisier and much less private than we expected. I think it was overpriced since it was only a 1 bedroom.
We stayed here for the weekend of our wedding. The space was beautiful, clean, and felt bigger than it appears in the photos. The host was kind and flexible in accomodating a early check in and late check out for the special occasion. The space was listed as whole house though and it was not particularly private. The space is like an inlaw suite connected to their main house with shared walls in the bedroom with a door connecting to their home off of the rentals kitchen. The walls are thin (specifically in the bedroom, we could hear the tv as well as their conversations nearly word for word. The lack of privacy felt awkaward for the occassion and we would have selected a different vrbo had the listing been more accurate. I 1000% recommend the space though if you dont particularly need the privacy aspect, truly a lovely rental for a great price with very nice hosts.
special occassion
If youâre ever in Culpepper, Virginia and need a place to stay, Be sure to check out this VRBO! It is a sweet little VRBO with room for 2 to 4 people. Not far from shopping, restaurants, historical areas, and parks. The bed is very comfortable. Bathroom is a nice size. Kitchen comes with Dishes, glasses, mugs, and a Keurig Coffee maker.. The VRBO Is Attached to the main house, but Is very private.
We loved our stay!! We stayed 4 nights and it was so relaxing. Very small quiet town but located so close to everything! The train station is less than one mile away and we took the train to DC. The house is connected to the main house, but it has everything you need. We could almost every night. The bed is very comfortable. The hosts left us shampoo, confiding, body wash, etc. There was an iron, washer and dryer. Small space, but excellency balue for the price. The hosts were so gracious and everything. The place was very clean. The house is located within a mile of grocery stores, Forest General, Eric. And super close to a cute downtown with bars and restaurants.
Much better than staying at a motel very clean , we laughed at the paper bow on our toilet paper roll it was a nice touch. Only negative was there was nothing really to wash the dishes with like a sponge or rag that we could find.
Kiley was an excellent host and the guesthouse was VERY nice. There is a washer and dryer located by the kitchen and the bedroom/bathroom had more room than expected. We will definitely stay again next time we are near culpepper. :)
Very quiet and private with hosts close if needed. Hosts very friendly. Only suggestion: listed as a 2 bedroom. Is really a one bedroom with pullout sofa, but still plenty of room for 4 to fit comfortably. Bed in Bedroom very comfortable.
We stayed for a long girls trip weekend and this property was perfect! Super clean, cozy, and close to all the fun shops downtown. I would definitely stay here again and the hosts made everything very easy. Had a wonderful time!
Lovely little apartment with great amenities. Property owners were communicative and very friendly. Highly recommend this property and would stay again if in the area again.
