The staff was understanding and kind/helpful. The reason for the low rating was because of the quality of the facility. places needing paint, damaged/deteriorating drop ceiling in the hallways, lamps missing bulbs, fixtures flickering, shower was missing shampoo dispenser, shower door was not sealed and leaked water all on the floor, TV was small, but that is usually not a big issue. Bathroom door would not stay latched as well. It is an older building and that is understandable.
We arrived early, and there was a $40 early check-in fee whether or not our room was ready.
Another problem was that a conference was in town and they did not anticipate the volume at breakfast. Waffle irons were not on, and supplies and food were not ready by 6:30am.
What they did get right was that the staff was very helpful and resolved issues that they could take care of. They provided us wash towels, shampoo, and replacement bulbs for the room. They even stored our luggage while we waited to check in. Rooms were sufficient and the beds were ok for someone that only had 4 to 5 hours available to sleep due to our schedule.
If you want to go to Six Flags over Texas on the cheap and want to walk from your hotel, this is an ideal location, but just the location is where the "ideal" ends. Just know the quality will be average to sub-par and the facility will be a bit dated.
