Sunny beach-side cottage with large open decks and wonderful Gulf beach view. Comfortably sleeping 6, You Are My Sunshine has two bedrooms and two full baths. The master bedroom is equipped with a Queen bed and private bath. The guest bedroom is equipped with a Queen bed and a Queen Sofa Sleeper with an upgraded Sealy gel mattress is located in the living area. The second full bath is located off the main hall, convenient to the living area and guest bedroom. Enjoy your time in sunshine on the large open deck with built in benches and picnic table. Additional amenities include free wi-fi, 2 cable TV's (located in living area and guest bedroom), DVD/VCR, coffee maker, blender, toaster, ice maker, full sized washer/dryer and charcoal grill. Pet friendly, $50 per pet fee, limit 2 dogs. No smoking.

The property is an older home that could use a little TLC, but has great access to the beach and the neighborhood is super quiet and peaceful. Just a couple minutes from shops and restaurants. The employees at Boardwalk Realty were super friendly and helpful.

Overall, not bad. Washer wasn't working. Was informed ahead of time. No dishwasher. Kitchen drawers dirty. Walkin shower nice. Construction needed work. several screws protruding. Rotten steps and landings. Doorway separated at floor. Can see ground. r

Nice beach house

The house is a nice beach house but the deck is rough. If you weren't careful you could get a splinter in your foot. There were a couple of places that the ceiling needed refinishing and a place missing on the bathroom floor tile. The mattress slept okay but it needs a new mattress in the master bedroom. I know my comments seem like I'm ragging on the house and I don't mean for it to sound that way. The only thing I wished the house had was a dishwasher. It really was great and we loved our stay and plan to return.

Beach access

The house is in a great location- short walk to beach & close to “ town”. The ceiling has significant water damage in 2 rooms, the deck is very weathered ( watch for splinters), the charcoal grill was rusted out & unusable. No dishwasher. The TV reception is very poor ( NBA finals were on that’s the only reason we had it on). The window in the front had a huge crack. The outdoor shower isn’t really usable because the house sits low & tall people will bang head- also it’s all mud/sand under it. There is no shade to park your car ( most houses have parking under them). There is limited cutlery& glasses . The dishes & pans are a hodge podge of 70’s vintage . The water spout in the fridge barely worked. This is an older home that needs updating( paint was splattered on door frames, broken pieces of wood around closet area.) There is no where to put luggage or hang up clothes as closets have shelves . The sheets on one bed were in bad shape. The couches had multiple stains. The inside of the cabinets were very dirty. The A/C worked well. It’s a short walk to the beach. The oven worked. We loved our beach time. We will be back to Dauphin Island but won’t stay here again.

Short vacation

this house was great, we don't have any kids yet, but it would be perfect for a family vacation. The short walk to the beach was great and there was no traffic on our street. Loved how much beach access this island allows. Also it was very easy to rent water toys like a paddle board.

Perfect beach getaway

This house was perfect, we wanted a little getaway at the beach somewhere quiet where we could feel like we could safely social distance. The check in process was easy (and safely distanced!) The house location was perfect, even closer to the beach than I thought. The beach was great, not a lot of people, plenty of space, beautiful sand. The house was incredibly clean and well stocked with kitchen items. It seemed a little more updated than the pictures made it looks, there was a very nice new tv! Overall, an awesome place for a simple quiet getaway for our little family (and pups!)

Nice little house by the Beach

The place is a nice and clean 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom house. It has a wrap around deck on 3 sides of the house. The air conditioner is fabulous. It's fully furnished with everything you need. Has laundry washer and dryer. Also has outside shower so you can rinse off after spending the day at the beach. I would stay again and do recommend it.

Nice house but no dishwasher

The house is in a great location and is a nice size. We were very surprised and disappointed that there is no dishwasher. The house was clean, but is unneeded of updating. Overall, a good choice!

Cheap for a reason

The carpet was dirty along with the furniture. The house was dated. I felt I was going to get a splinter each time I walked on the deck. Trash along with cigarette butts laying all the way around the deck. Cracks in the ceiling in living room/kitchen. There was mold behind the kitchen faucet. Broken shelf in the refrigerator limited space for food. Definitely enjoyed the area and the beach.

First vacation ever!

We are a family of 5 and this was our first family vacation. We drove 14 hours. The property manager was very easy to contact and very easy to deal with. The house was comfortable to have our kids in. Plenty of cooker ware to use. The only thing we could have used was curtains in the bedrooms to help with the 5:40 am sunrise. Miniblinds didnt do much. We loved our stay and we loved Dauphin Island!

Great family time

We enjoyed the house and everything it had to offer. From updated electronic entertainment options, to a full-use kitchen. It had everything we needed and was only a few houses from the beach. Definitely a great time!

Had a great time on our stay here!

The House was great for my 8 year old and her 2 friends spring break! Wish the trip didn’t have to end! Even though the weather was bad one of the nights, we still had a perfect trip right on the beach! The House was perfect for our dog also! We will definitely be coming back!

Excellent location

The house is nicely equipped. It’s not the most modern or updated house but it worked well for our stay. The location is perfect. The views from the deck and even inside the house are nice and the beach is just a short walk down the street. The check-in/check-out process was easy and the people I encountered in the property management office were super friendly and helpful. I would definitely consider staying here again.

Great Location for Beach Vacation

The house was great for what we needed. Very short walk to the beach. House had everything we needed for a comfortable stay for our family of 5. Comfortable, but lived-in so we didn't have to be nervous about the kids or dog. The three beds in the kids' bedroom were a great touch - it was nice that no one had to sleep on a couch. Made it so we could all go to bed whenever we wanted to while the others could stay up and talk. We had a great time and will definitely consider staying here again.
