Seafarer's Suite - Fully Equipped House in Galaxidi, Phocis, Greece

Along with its long history dating back to the 1800's, Galaxidi is among the very few "island looking" locations of mainland Greece. Surrounded by places of interest within walking and driving distance, Galaxidi is the perfect place to be all year round. No matter the season, you are in for a great vacation time! In town you can visit old churches, museums, and traditional houses, all just a short walk away from the sea, while a scenic 35-minute drive away you will find the Oracle of Delphi and Mountain Parnassus—the largest ski center in Greece. Galaxidi is also a great stopover destination for those who are road tripping and heading toward the city of Patras to cross to Italy by ferry.

The property is located on a quiet alley street, where there is no car passage. At the same time, the Seafarer's Suite is only one minute (on foot!) away from the beach and a cafe is conveniently located along the water's edge! Take the short promenade to explore the taverns and local shops. Great shores are within walking distance as well. Galaxidi is known for its "on-foot distances" since everyone walks to move around the town.

Once you are here, you will find a cozy and inviting home waiting for you. A fully equipped kitchen and a spacious living room promise to make you feel comfortable and at home. And if you're thinking that something is missing from the picture, the fireplace in the middle of the living room will offer the extra warmth and homey feeling you need. Dine in the dining area and enjoy spending the afternoon hours in the Suite's isolated garden, where you may listen to the cicadas and birds singing their songs on a hot summer day.

Setup: With a fully equipped kitchen, furnished living room, private garden area, spacious bedroom and a full bathroom, you will be able to find everything you might need from a washing machine to a full cleaning kit, spare bed sheets and towels as well a board games and more!

Peaceful location

A comfortable properly in a quiet location in the heart of the village. A pleasant walk to shops and restaurants. The kitchen is very nice. Easier to find on foot than by car, but convenient parking once you know where to go. Owner was very helpful in finding the location. We used it as a base for exploring Delphi and the nearby area. I will stay there again if I return to Galaxidi.

Great little place

The apartment was great, with plenty of space. We had everything we needed, and the owner even made Netflix available to us. It wasn't particularly easy to find, but maybe we should have studied the map a bit better before setting of. The decor was not to our taste, but there was nothing wrong with it. The only negatives are the the clear tiles in the bedroom wall that let it a lot of light in the morning, so makes it a bit tricky if you want to sleep later. Also, Jo the owner was great, but to us, not having WhatsApp available (we asked) was not great, as we have to spend more money phoning or texting (our mobile plans are focused around data, making calls/sms to foreign numbers much more expensive). Overall we really enjoyed it!

As good, if not better than the first time

The Seafarer's Suite is my home away from home in Greece. This is the second year we have visited Galaxidi and stayed in G/Jo's lovely apartment. It is so lovely and relaxing. It is very close to all the attractions of Galaxidi - the swimming, cafes, town centre, restaurants etc. It is clean and tidy. The additional personal touches such as bread, preserves, wine etc. make you feel very welcomed. This year we met G/Jo and he is a very helpful and caring young man, and I can see us staying at the Seafarer's Suite when we visit Galaxidi. I would recommend anyone to stay there.

Perfect

Perfect host, perfect home, we were in Galaxidi for about 5 days and enjoyed everything. No Problems, easy arrangement. 60 steps to the sea, nice little garden with orange, almond and lemon trees. Wonderful house, nice walking, hiking, fresh seafood at the harbour, fresh feta cheese and bread,... Thank you!

Great location for Delphi, town, and sea, excellent kitchen, helpful/friendly owner. Exceptional!

This is a charming, modern, lovely property in a wonderful location. The apartment is spacious, and has a very well-appointed kitchen (we cook most of our meals when we travel, so this really matters to us). It sits on a pedestrian laneway, so is totally peaceful and quiet. The sea is a 1-minute walk, and town (with a lovely harbor and many tavernas) is a 5-minute walk. Ancient Delphi (the reason for our visit) is 45 minutes away. We had no idea that Galaxidi was so charming! Helpful advice: this location has windy, narrow, and steep streets. While great for exploring, we arrived after dark and had a tough time finding the apartment. The owner (who was wonderful!) ended up meeting us at the church at the top of the town, and we walked from there. I recommend setting your gps for that church (St Nikolas). I don't know if Galaxidi has a supermarket, but we shopped in Itea (another sweet seaside town). This is a wonderful, wonderful place.

Seafarers Shelter at Galaxidi was wonderful, and everything was as promised.

The accommodation was exceptional as far as cleanliness and ammenities. From the moment we walked in we knew we were going to enjoy our stay. It was close to all activities in the town, from swimming, harbour cafes, grocery stores, wonderful bread shops. The extra touches provided by the owners, such as a bottle of wine, loaf of bread and butter, some rose' liquor added to our appreciation of the appartment. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Seafarers Shelter for a true home away from home. Galaxidi is a small village with it's tradition in fishing, and many of our evening meals centred around seafood. The Greek cooking is delicious and the coffee is so good. I will be recommending to all my friends who want a Greek holiday to go to Galaxidi and stay at the Seafarers Shelter

A fantastic house, strictly quiet and private.

Een volledig ingericht huis, grote keuken met alle benodigdheden, ruime slaapkamer met volop bergruimte, luxe badkamer en grote woonkamer. In centrum van Galaxidi, 100 meter vanaf de kerk en 200 meter vanaf de haven met volop authentieke restaurants. Een goede uitvalbasis om alles in de omgeving te verkennen, zoals Delfi en het klooster Hosias Loukas. We waren hier drie nachten. Jammer van de hoge borg, maar die ontvang je terug.
