Pros: Heart of Talkeetna. Beside the river. Great receptionists. Helpful people Cons: Rooms were very very small. The roads around the cabins destroyed by rain and not properly maintained

If you want a true Talkeetna experience then stay here. Its very convenient for walking around mainstreet. We just needed somewhere to sleep and it met our needs. Definitely nothing fancy.

The whole place felt sort of off. I was expecting a cute little cabin type place but in reality it felt more like a prefabricated home stuck together one after another. The walls were paper thin, the room was dated and I was told I could not control the temperature in the room, that the owner was the only one allowed to touch the controls. The “Front Desk” was a woman with a folder full of papers in a large room resembling a storefront but with absolutely no charm or warmth to it whatsoever. Nothing about this place was invitingly or even friendly. Skip it

Good value and location in Talkeetna

The hotel was within walking distance of downtown, but it was quiet. (We didn't hear the band playing in the downtown park.) The hotel provided coffee in the lobby, but no formal breakfast. There was a bar and the Batman was kind enough to provide ice. Our room was small, but adequate.

Motel is Neat, clean and quiet but cramped.

This is an older place and pretty tight quarters. No heat or A/C except for a wall heater and a fan. The single bed was comfortable just a little cramped. The folks were very nice and the area is beautiful, right on the river which was flooding while I was there. Not meant for anyone with physical issues. Town was very unusual.

Staff were kind and quite helpful. Common area with tables and free hot drinks was nice. The room was small but adequate. The walls were thin and noise was an issue one night (earplugs were provided). Reasonable budget alternative.

Everything was clean and tidy. No t.v. though or radio. I need these things to fall asleep. So it took a long time to fall asleep. Lots of food within walking distance. And nice paths to the river for some gorgeoous pictures. Desk lady was super nice!

No hot water and walls were buckling

We paid almost $200 and it esd horrible! There was no hot water in the evening and the entire next day because they had only partially filled the oil and ran out so by 1p the next day we were told we can go to the laundry mat around the corner to shower so we left- so rude! The room was the size of a closet 8’x8’ with 2 twin beds that filled the room so there was no floor space. Every wall paneling was all buckled, the beds were old and lumpy, pillows were terrible and towels were tiny. There bar in the photos looks large but it’s so tiny and since they close the lobby where you could sit at 8p and there’s no TV in the room you’re literally stuck sitting in a closet. Also there’s a wood deck walkway so you hear the clocking of boots on your head if anyone walks anywhere. Wouldn’t stay there if they offered a room for free.
