The unit was adorable, very spacious, and modern! However, there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher and items left in the refrigerator, I’m guessing from the last occupants, which was surprisingly odd. Parking is expensive, but it’s Downtown Detroit, so that was pretty much expected. But everything is within walking distance, so that’s a plus! Overall, my stay was pretty decent. I will reserve in the future!

Overall great stay. Only things that needed improvement was the bed being SUPER hard, one of kitchen lights was flickering and then the light eventually went out, and touching up some of the paint around the room where you can see they were removing a receptacle cover for example

The property was nice and convenient. The bed let out couch was broken which was an inconvenience for us. The property wasn’t as clean as I expected either, it seemed like a rush job on the cleaning.

The property was great. It is close to anything you need. It is keyless, so I saw people strugglimh to enter, but other than that I recommend.

In speaking with a customer service rep, he was able to book me for my next stay but failed to assist me with a courtesy late checkout. In short, he kept telling me that there was nothing that he could do for me when in fact in the past a customer service rep was able to inquire if this was possible. To provide a bit of the backstory - I initially booked with Expedia and then booked an additional stay with Sonder (same unit etc.) Considering that I would be staying in the same unit (but just had to book through Sonder vs Expedia) I asked for a late courtesy check out which he was "unable to provide" but proceeded to inform me that I could pay for a late checkout via the app. As a frequent customer of Sonder (via multiple cities), I was extremely disappointed with this interaction. Especially given towards the end of the call he became frustrated with me, stating "I know how to do my job". This is unpleasant behavior and I hope that this is not the Sonder standard. Given this experience, this does not make me feel comfortable to continue to book with Sonder whether it's for work or simply for a getaway. It's becoming less of an enjoyable experience.

Autorama Stay

The Sonder Gabriel Richard is a great place to stay in downtown Detroit. The apartment was spacious and had all the amenities you would need for a longer stay. Comfortable bed and very nice kitchen. I would highly recommend staying here if you’re coming to Detroit!
