Beautiful Rooms

Pros: It was convenient to highways so we could get around to the zoo and other things.
Cons: The $100 non-refundable pet fee could be changed. It would be acceptable if it were refundable, if your pet didn't do any damage.
We visited for Easter weekend and were impressed with the room, cleanliness, and friendliness of the staff. I was a front office manager at a hotel years ago and remember how difficult holiday weekends could be, but we had absolutely no issues with anything during our stay! Had there not been a $100 nonrefundable fee for pets though we would have been able to bring our dog. I felt like that was a bit steep for a fee, especially to make it nonrefundable.

Great place but stay away from the free breakfast

The hotel on the outside is beautiful but the inside needs renovation. Carpet needs to be changed in the room and hallways. When we were checking out we did saw a truck from Shaw floors entering so it looks like they will be renovating. In my room the location of the air conditioner and the bed is not align and at night I felt hot even though the air was running. The free breakfast need to be improved. The boiled eggs were rubbery as if they were many days old. The bagel and Danish looked stale and non appetizing so I didn't even touch them. Overall the place was clean and felt inviting, the staff was wonderful, helpful and courteous. I would recommend this place to my friends and I would stay there again on my return trip to Michigan.

Nice Suites

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
The suites were nice - it was especially useful to have the kitchenette available for my business travel. The wired Internet connection took a bit of effort to resolve, but overall the experience of staying in this hotel was very good. The room was clean, the bathroom had enough space, the bed was reasonably comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful (I shipped a package ahead and they ensured it reached me). Also, the nearby mall is very convenient and is pretty nice. There are many great dining options nearby as well. It is a bit difficult to drive 59, the main road to this hotel, but you eventually get used to that as well.

This hotel made us feel welcome

Cons: no free breakfast
This hotel was a wonderful place to stay while we waited to close on our home. They kept our room spotless, made sure if we needed anything we got it. Our experience was top rate.

Disappointed...

Our 2 room suite was clean and nice however there was no coffee in the room and no toilet paper. After waiting an hour for someone to bring toilet paper we went to the desk to get it. Much to our chagrin the toilet was plugged up. After several calls to the desk it became apparent that the Marriot's idea of "customer satisfaction" is for us to come to the lobby to use the public toilet and wait until morning when their "engineer" will be able to fix it. Not only was there snow on the ground but we were in a different building than the lobby. I made a trip to the front desk to chew out the assistant manager at 6:00 pm. They offered us no other room because they were all booked and still insisted that the engineer would fix it in the morning. I used the public rest room in the lobby and absconded with a plunger I found in it. I was able to get the toilet working but I was fuming that the hotel staff really did not seem to care enough to do anything about the situation.
