Swordale Stays. Self Catering Holiday Cottage in the Highlands of Scotland

The cottage is in a small, quiet hamlet two miles up the hill from Evanton village. It is actually part of a converted farm steading consisting of ten cottages, all made of natural stone. Ours is the only one fortunate enough to have a vaulted ceiling and Juliet balcony on the first floor, where the lounge is situated. Bespoke wooden beds and shelves for bathroom basins. Fantastic kitchen with breakfast bar and en-suites with walk-in showers, and one with a slipper bath. A cosy courtyard with heating and lighting and a covered pergola. This is a great place to stay and use as a base to explore, or stop off for a few days while driving the NC500. Whilst our cottage sleeps 4 - one king-size room and one double room - we do have a single fold-up bed (which can be put up in the living room) and a travel cot - both are available upon request when booking. https://swordalestays.com

This cottage is absolutely stunning! It was clean, had everything you need. The posh coffee machine was fantastic, especially for a coffee snob like myself. Robert was very fast at responding to my messages beforehand. We didn't need to message whilst there as there were clear instructions for everything. We would love to come back!

Very comfortable and well appointed accommodation, tastefully decorated. About a mile or so up a quiet lane from the village (as described) where there is a good pub. The surrounding area is beautiful and a pleasure to explore coast and hills.

We loved this house. It was raining outside and we were tired and this house was perfect, exactly what we needed. Comfortable, relaxing. We immediately felt at home. The kitchen is amazing. And the living room spacious, warm and inviting. Loved all the details. Highly recommend.

Outstanding country apartment

Without doubt one of the best places we’ve stayed, anyone The apartment is beautifully restored and renovated and it is very clean and equipped for some serious cooking and living. It accommodates four in real comfort. The location rating reflects that it is out of town and so requires a car for any trip or shopping. Could be 5 stars if country quiet is your thing. On a single track road; use What Three Words to find it. Google and Apple Maps won’t get you there.Communication with Roger was excellent as well. Overall very highly recommend. With bells on.

Best coffee ever

Fantastic stay! The house is beautiful and the location affords easy access for what ever direction you choose to travel. Best coffee maker we have ever seen. Maybe better directions to the home would be nice otherwise 10 out of 10! Fresh flowers were a very nice touch! Thank you!

Dingwall Stay

Great property had everything we needed for a week stay. Enjoyed the outdoor patio and the coffee machine was awesome, a really nice touch for those of us who enjoy a good cup or two in the morning. Location was great for seeing all the Highlands had to offer.

Fabulous time

The booking from start to finish with Robert was so easy and we really appreciated our early check in as we weren’t coming far. The house was amazing as was the huge effort put in to all the Christmas decorations. This property was fantastic and had everything (and more) we needed to enjoy our stay. Tolle Ferienwohnung mit Annehmlichkeiten

Die Ferienwohnung ist extrem gut und modern ausgestattet — die BĂ€der sind geschmackvoll und großzĂŒgig hergerichtet und auch in der KĂŒche und im Wohnzimmer ist alles zu finden. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefĂŒhlt. Unseren Kindern gefiel insbesondere die schönen Beleuchtungsmöglichkeiten in der gesamten Wohnung und die Terrasse.

Excellent base for exploration around Inverness

Superb property. Clean and well appointed. Kitchen has all necessary to cook meals and a dishwasher for east cleanup. The built in espresso machine is phenomenal! Showers and baths are clean and very modern. Highly recommend!

Wunderschönes Haus in idyllischer Umgebung

Das Haus hat unsere Erwartungen ĂŒbertroffen. Sehr geschmackvoll und gemĂŒtlich eingerichtet und technisch top ausgestattet. Bei Ankunft standen Blumen in den Zimmern und es zur BegrĂŒĂŸung Wein und SĂŒĂŸigkeiten. Alles was man brĂ€uchte, war vor Ort. Der Gastgeber war immer erreichbar und sehr freundlich. Wir haben auch Tipps fĂŒr AusflĂŒge und Wanderungen bekommen. Also sehr zu empfehlen .
