Wonderful barn in a beautiful location. Just what we needed to celebrate my wifeâs 49th Birthday! Spacious lounge and lovely bedrooms. Surrounding grounds are lovely and would recommend a walk at the local nature reserve. Would definitely recommend this property for a relaxing getaway.
Wonderful stay at virginia barn. The venue was perfect for all our family and we did really love our stay. The Furniture/kitchen and decor tired and could do with updating.and needs alot more dusting everywhere
We arrived on New Years Eve to find the large open area of the barn, warm and welcoming. Everything was exactly as expected, if not more. The accommodation has everything you would ever need to make your stay very pleasant. Sue was also very helpful with answers to my questions on the lead up, which also helped set our expectations.
Overall a very chilled and relaxing stay away from the hustle and bustle of day to day life.
I stayed with my husband, our three adult children and our daughter-in-law. It was very special to spend time together. The grand piano was much used as we all play and one daughter and my husband were performing at my niece's wedding (the next day). Absolutely perfect environment for us as a family. We loved it!
Great location and plenty of space. Visually a lovely sitting room with huge vaulted ceiling but furnishings and rugs very tired. A few issues with showers but Iâm sure they will be resolved.
As a family place to meet and celebrate a birthday it was wonderful.
The barn was just as described and as per the pictures. A lovely place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Sue was great with communicating with me prior to our arrival and it was really easy to get the keys to the property. We booked Virginia for the week and Duleep Singh for a few of the group who were only able to join for the weekend and both barns were equipped with everything we needed.
Thank you!
We visited for a 2 night stay in mid November. This is a lovely property and very cosy for a barn conversion. We found every thing we needed for our stay and the internal lay out was ideal for our party. The local area is very pretty and there are plenty of attractions close by. We would definitely visit again.
We [infants, parents and grandparents] had a wonderful 3 night stay at Virginia Barn. The property was beautiful, well equipped and nicely situated [feels remote and yet within easy reach of shopping. Leisure centres, attractions for adults and children . Wonderfully equipped and attractive property. Thanks
We stayed at Virginia Barn for 5 nights with our children and grandchildren. The barn is beautiful and the setting is peaceful and relaxing. We wandered down to the well kept tennis court and knocked a few balls around between us. In the field next door the cows were grazing in the late autumn sunshine and had 5 new calfs among them. We had good weather for the whole five days and didn't need to use the woodburner. The barn had everything we needed to make home cooked meals. One of the days we went to Thetford Forest Lodge, a great day out for everyone (we all had a play on the the play area!). We took games and our old playstations (1 and 2) to relive reliving our days of playing guitar hero and the dance mat! We walked to the Fox and the Vine pubs on different days for a quick pint with the locals who were all very friendly. It was a shame to leave today, we all had such a great time. I would definitely recommend Virginia barn if you're looking for a relaxing getaway.
very lovely barn at a peaceful location. The log burner was a special touch. Comfy beds, well equipped kitchen. If youâre not a fan of spiders i wouldnât advise. Lots of cobwebs everywhere and flies. Overall we had a lovely couple of days here.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Virginia Barn to celebrate my husband's 60th Birthday. Just our immediate family due to covid restrictions but everything was very secure. Everything was thought of & it was lovely & warm. Very peaceful in countryside surroundings. A lovely place to stay.
We wanted a quiet getaway from SEN teacher life for a weekend and this was perfect. Fantastic walks for the dogs and a lovely local pub en route. It was a great weekend.
We enjoyed our stay at Virginia Barn to celebrate our daughter's birthday with family and friends. The accommodation is great and the kitchen very well equipped.
We had lovely time in Virginia Barn.
The property was very clean and had everything what we need.
Ours children spent lots of time outside to play football and badminton. We went for a walk around.
We had only issue with internet, on Tuesday we had wifi for an hour.
I can fully recommend this property really nice place.
Lording it up in this fabulous old 16th century Manor, yes the garden has a few mole hills which we understand is all to be transformed this summer and the house inside is full of old antique furniture but it has so much character and charm. There was 20 of us and 4 kids rattling around in a house that you still managed to lose each other, you had room to escape and so did the kids. Will definitely return and for the price you will find it really hard to find the equivalent of, the owner of this fab house gives people like me from normal working background to enjoy.
Beautiful and spacious converted barn in lovely surroundings
We used this as an opportunity for our dispersed family to meet up and enjoy some time together. The barn was lovely, well equipped, and easily spacious enough for 8 people. We would thoroughly recommend it.
So much room to spread ourselves about [6 adults and 2 children]. Peaceful and relaxing.
Everything we needed.
If we were going that way again, we'd use Virginia Barn
One more thing- when my son rang the emergency number, because we'd used too much hot water, it was sorted out straight away and very friendly.
ps Just one small niggle, it would've been useful to know that the internet is intermittent!
Our group of 7 family friends (age 2-45) just spent a brilliant long weekend at the Blo Norton property (renting the hall AND two barns). The hall is grand, charming, quirky and comfortable with numerous large spaces for groups to congregate. The barns are fabulously converted with modern kitchens and cozy interiors. Suggest you can plan on four families sleeping in the hall, two in the largest barn and 1 in the small barn.
Sue McGrath (property manager) and Karen (the housekeeper) patiently answered all of my questions prior to arrival. Check in was easy and we conveniently arranged a Sainsbury's delivery to arrive shortly after we did.
Our group spent Saturday morning exploring the extensive grounds. These included open lawns at the barns (not apparent on outdated google map satellite images), the wooded drive and landscaped gardens at the hall and a meadow behind the hall. Some of us ran a local park run or visited Wyken Vineyards' farmer's market and gardens (highly recommended) where we collected eggs, fresh asparagus, breads and artisanal treats for the weekend. We walked to the White Horse in Thelnetham for lunch, which handled our large group expertly and served outstanding food. Our dinners were catered by Emma Biggs Catering (highly recommended). The kids sat down first to a family style/large dish dinner while the adults enjoyed canapes and a glass of champagne by the fire followed by a three-course meal. Superb!
Sunday, after a fry up in the well-equipped hall kitchen, we hosted Grey Goose archery (highly recommended) who set up targets for the children, and the parents enjoyed a quick go as well. We used the hall's two gas grills for a Sunday BBQ at the large,18-person table by the property's pond. Lawn games and walks on the grounds and around the village kept us entertained until Emma arrived again with another perfect dinner.
We were truly spoiled at Blo Norton and the kids are already begging to go back. Memories for a lifetime.
