On the ground floor the front door opens to the entrance hall with, on one side the comfortable sitting room which has an open fireplace and a door through to the study. On the other side of the hall is the snug/family room with sofa, armchairs, fireplace, television and bookcases with a large selection of books and games. Also off the hall is the dining room which is open-plan to the kitchen/breakfast room with Aga and island. French doors lead to a garden terrace with lovely views down the valley. There is a laundry/utility room and separate ground floor cloakroom.
On the first floor of the house is a galleried landing off which are the main and guest bedroom suites, both with en-suite bathrooms; two further double bedrooms and family shower room. Manor Farmhouse sits at the end of a no through lane in a peaceful, private and idyllic setting looking out over its garden and paddock and out over the valley of the River Frome. The garden extends to almost two acres and runs down to the river edge where there is a shallow shelf, often used for swimming by the owner.
In front of the house is a gravelled parking area, below which is a further parking area and a games room situated in an outbuilding. With its peaceful setting, spacious accommodation, and extensive garden, the house is the perfect place for enjoying a family holiday in this beautiful part of rural Dorset.

The hamlet of Cruxton nestles in the Frome Valley amid rolling Dorset countryside, 9 miles north west of the county town Dorchester. The nearby village of Maiden Newton is only a couple of minutes drive away or a pleasant 10 minute stroll, and has a good village store, a Spar and petrol station, a newsagent and cafe, a local pub and a restaurant. Sydling St. Nicholas is a picturesque village only a short drive away, winding along the little Sydling Water with tiny connecting bridges to the ancient thatched cottages which line the banks, and has a popular pub - The Greyhound which has received national accolades for the quality of its food. Other nearby attractive villages are Cattistock, Toller Porcorum and Cerne Abbas which is the home of the Cerne Giant an ancient naked figure sculpted into the chalk hillside. The village also has three popular pubs and a tea shop, an ancient abbey with pretty gardens and many beautiful cottages to admire. Manor Farmhouse is ideally situated for easy trips to the popular nearby towns of Beaminster and Bridport, and the world famous Jurassic Coast , with its wonderful beaches such as Burton Bradstock, Cogden and Eype, is only a 25 minute drive away. Eggardon Hill, an amazing Iron Age fort with incredible views over West Dorset, is a 10 minute drive away. West Dorset is renowned for its lively, popular and eclectic food scene, and regular local food markets are held offering visitors a taste of the delicious local produce. Mapperton Gardens is a short drive away from Cruxton and well worth a visit.
Itsin a beautiful location, very rural. The house is extremely comfortable and the gardens wonderful with a small river running through.
Well equipped games room which we all enjoyed!
Had to call for the engineer, as I did last year, as Aga was not hot enough to cook on even after specifically checking twice before arrival to make sure it was working and up to heat.
The Aga is turned off for six months during the summer and should have been serviced before relighting in October.
It had been turned on and the thermostat set to 6 which is the wrong way to turn it on,
The service engineer you sent was very competent and sorted the problem out. Perhaps he should service the Aga before it is turned in next October 2023.
Otherwise the property was as lovely and as comfortable as it was last year. A perfect place for a holiday.

Relaxing stay in a beautiful house
We stayed one week at the Farmhouse and had a very good time. The property is in top shape and everything was very pleasant and relaxing. Enjoyed cooling off in the stream behind the house and loved the terrace right next to the kitchen. Restaurant recommendations were really good, but cooked quite a few meals at home and the kitchen has a great layout and very good appliances. Hope we can come back.

Beautifully appointed cottage
A lovely cottage in lovely grounds. Very comfortable and well appointed.
Having the games room was an added bonus. Some of our group did go into the river. But a lovely spot to sit and watch for kingfisher and trout.
The road to the cottage is narrow with few passing places
There appears to be a road construction unit next door which occasionally could be noisy

This is magnificent
We stayed here for three months in total in between moving house. Manor Farmhouse is located at the end of a quiet country lane in its own lovely grounds leading down to the river. The house has been beautifully modernised whilst retaining its original character. The owners have provided generously for your stay - plenty of matching mugs, glassware, cutlery etc, none of the scrappy oddities you find in many rentals. Cat and Jonathan are lovely and look after the place very well and Phoebe Streak, from Dorset Hideaways is amazing, making everything work easily. We rent a lot and this experience has been simply outstanding.
One of the best holidays Iâve had with my family! Everything we could have asked for. A beautiful beautiful property with the comfiest beds I have ever slept in! Thank you so much for an amazing stay.

Relaxing retreat in idyllic setting
We had a lovely weekâs stay at Manorhouse. The air hockey/pool table kept the children entertained on the odd rainy afternoon otherwise they were swimming in the river and just enjoying the outside space and peaceful surroundings.
The house has everything you need and is located near beaches such as Burton Bradstock, Durdle Door (40 mins) and places like Bridport, Dorchester and Cerne Abbas within 20 min drive.
A very enjoyable stay!

Heavenly
Enormous grounds, a brilliant and huge games room, beautiful bedrooms and kitchen, everything works perfectly, all the mod cons you could imagine, and a river running through the grounds, which we swam in every day. It's perfect.
