You'll love the seclusion and large yard this beautifully remodeled vacation home offers. Whether your group consists of two small families or two couples, seniors, parents visiting their student at nearby Fort Lewis College, or you simply want a basecamp for your outdoor adventure getaway, this lovely Durango home offers an excellent balance of peace and quiet and mountain activity. Set back off the road just one mile from downtown Durango and nestled in the San Juan Mountains at the southern tip of the Rockies, this fresh and clean rental provides you the privacy you want on vacation with an abundance of fun outdoor options, as well as dining and shopping.

The bright interior with an open floor plan and high ceilings creates a cheerful environment for you to gather and enjoy the company of your guests. Fresh, white paint and glossy wood floors throughout make this home sparkle. An added bonus is the owner's framed paintings and photography hung throughout. Lounge on the comfortable sofas in the living room, one of which features recliners at either end. Warm up by the gas fireplace as you catch up on your favorite cable shows on the large TV, mounted above the fireplace. The large west-facing picture window in this room provides plenty of natural light and impressive views of the La Plata Mountains and surrounding hills.

The brand-new kitchen features tile flooring, all new stainless appliances that include a dishwasher, and lovely wood cabinets. Create delicious meals in this kitchen that has everything you need without feeling like you're missing out on the fun, thanks to the half wall with a breakfast bar between the kitchen and living room. Very clean, it was really nice for our family of 5. We did get to see some mule deer roaming around the yard, and bear tracks. Which were pretty awesome. The amenities were nice, easy to get location from all of the shops and local places.

Great spot and convenient location

We enjoyed our stay very much! We loved the privacy while being close to downtown. The bedrooms and living room were very comfortable. The patio seating was lovely in the evening. We would definitely stay again!

Quite neat home

We enjoyed our time in Durango and to come home and relax in a nice quiet space was wonderful. Put girls loved watching the deer each morning while eating breakfast. The location is very convenient to downtown and all the local activities.

It's an OK property, not premier. Some nice views and close to downtown. However, the property has issues. Most of them are brought up in past reviews. But they go unfixed. With some time, effort, and money. You could make this a better place. And what's with the huge cleaning fee???!

House was very clean and well stocked. It is close to Fort Lewis College, but a little outside of walking distance to access downtown. The only limitation is that there is just one bath (we had 4 adults), but that was very clear from the listing. I would stay here again.

The property was great. We had a little hard time finding it but your directions were good. We just took a few passes. The house was comfortable and suited our needs. Beautiful location. Our only suggestion would be to turn up the hot water a little and find a way to increase the water pressure. The shower needed warmer water with more water pressure.

We took our adult children skiing for a week, and this house suited our needs just fine. The only glitch was the electronic door lock didn’t work when we arrived late at night. It took a little while, but we eventually got the code for the lockbox containing the keys.

Review

The house was exactly how the listing was described. The only reason I gave a four star and not a five is because the dishes in the cabinets were either wet or had dried food on them so I had to wash all the dishes before we used them. As for the rest of the house it was immaculate and would definitely stay there again and recommend it for others traveling to Durango.

It’s a beautiful area where the airbnb is , the house was very small for a family of 5 with only one bathroom available. The house seemed like it was never cleaned prior to us arriving, we noticed the living room fan had a lot of dust on it, the ceiling in the kitchen had spider webs in the corner also in the living room ceiling, we also had noticed a lot of mouse traps through out the house from the kitchen by the fridge and also in the living room. We also intend on using the grill, but it was very dirty. We were disappointed cause we had planned to grilled some steaks for dinner and stay outside and enjoy the beautiful weather and wild life. Thank you for your understanding!
