Good hotel on outskirts of Durham
The hotel provides small but functional en suite rooms which were warm and clean. It is also dog friendly. The restaurant meal was good value with very generous portions of well made food

The location of the hotel, just outside Durham is great. The hotel has free parking which is ideal and as this is a motel, you can park at your room. The main part of the hotel doesn’t have a good atmosphere, seems like there is no where for staff to meet other than the main reception area so when you go in for breakfast you are met by staff having breaks or getting ready for their day. Felt like you were interrupting them. The staff in the restaurant are lovely. Excellent service from them for dinner and breakfast. Food was good. The room we had was comfortable but things like light shades needed replaced. One was actually in bits! Although the room was clean the bathroom had a layer of dust on some surfaces which wasn’t very nice. We were only there for a couple of days so our stay was fine, but stayed here before a few years ago and it’s definitely not as good as it was then which is a shame.

Very pleasant and efficient staff. Ate dinner which was served promptly, hot and tasty. Perhaps decor in the bar area could be a little more luxurious. Good value for money.

Me & my daughter usually stay at this hotel as it’s convenient when visiting family. The staff are very friendly & welcoming & check in is easy. We had one of the outside rooms & when we walked in, it was warm & cosy, but also clean. The tv worked great & good tea/coffee making facilities. I’ve got to say the beds were really comfy & we had the best nights sleep, it probably helped that we had a room away from the busy road & overlooking the fields at the back.
