Mountain Cabin Bordering State Park. Hiking, Private. Special Place, Great View!
Tucked in the forest near the end of a dead end dirt road this cabin sits on a ridge with awesome views and sounds of a creek below. Fully renovated interior in 2021 yet keeping its rustic charm. Peaceful and quiet nestled against Camels Hump State Park, but still the luxury of high speed internet. Master bedroom has large picture window towards the forest with the creek below. Enjoy morning coffee on the porch with its beautiful south eastern exposure. Minutes from Waterbury and Waitsfield
This 1 bedroom cabin with a loft in Duxbury is perfect for your escape. With a cozy queen bed with a view in the master bedroom. 2 twin beds in the loft that can be made in to a king.
Propane Fireplace in living room adds to the ambiance. Set to a thermostat or just turn it on! Hiking into the state park is right from your door. Quiet and not used by many people, connects to 14,000 acre Camels Hump stayed Forest. Also makes great cross country skiing on the groomed Snowmobile trails in the winter.
Fire pit outside the cabin. Charcoal BBQ for you to enjoy. Here the Dowsville creek from bed after a night of rain!
Four wheel drive in winter needed. Any car in summer is fine.
Amazing cabin! It was spotless when we arrived, and in excellent shape. It is a couple of miles down a dirt/gravel road, and you will definitely without question need AWD in winter (maybe even in wet weather, as the house is up a fairly steep hill). The road has houses on it, but is very quiet and seemed to have almost no cars driving by. The house is right next to the road, but the trees block it, and we had maybe one car pass by the entire time, so it felt very secluded and private. The view from the deck is just as great as it looks in the photos. We will definitely come back here, this was the perfect peaceful getaway!
This cabin is beautiful! The location is amazing. It's remote enough to really feel surrounded by nature but close enough to town to be convenient for groceries, shops and restaurants. The views were just amazing. While we did have hot weather, for the most part the cabin was comfortable even though there's no AC and most windows don't open. I imagine it's even better during the rest of the year with cooler weather. I ended up having a bad allergic reaction to some wildfire smoke from Canada so we spent more time in the cabin then I was planning to since I didn't feel my best. So glad I picked such a beautiful rental because the cabin is just so relaxing and nice that I didn't mind spending more time there. A few notes for people who don't thoroughly read amenities in the description:There is no microwave so heating up food must be done on the stovetop and in the oven.No AC so if you are going to melt this isn't your cabin. The road was fine in the summer but even then I kinda wished we had 4 wheel drive. The last bit is steep and the gravel is deep enough and loose enough backing out of the driveway that our wheels would spin.
Beautiful, private, peaceful cabin in the woods. The place was spotless, well appointed and welcoming. The views were gorgeous from inside the cabin and out and we loved having morning coffee in the Adirondack chairs on the deck overlooking the mountains. Easy, quick communication with the hosts, who also provided a ton of helpful information about things to do and see in the area prior to our check in. I would definitely love to stay again and would highly recommend! Thank you for sharing the space with us!
Perfect place for my family of four to unplug and relax with easy access to nearby towns. Easy check-in and great communication from the owners. Highly recommended.
We stayed two nights, enjoyed the fire pit. It was very quiet and relaxing. The cabin is very nice and had everything we needed. Will definitely stay again!!
Beautifully tucked away in the hills of Vermont, the house has all the essentials youâll need for a quiet get away. We did some great snowshoe hikes and went into Waterbury and Waitsfield for provisions and Prohibition Pig. Peter was responsive and thorough in his communication.
Peaceful cabin with beautiful mountain views - the perfect place to unwind and renew. We enjoyed playing games and relaxing in the coziness of the cabin. And also had fun taking walks in the surrounding area and hiking nearby. The cabin had everything we needed and very easy to check in and out.
A special, beautiful place in the mountains. My husband and I spent time here to celebrate our anniversary. We loved the house (just a pictured), the views (be sure to get up in the morning to see the clouds low in the valley below), and the surrounding walks/hikes (follow the snowmobile paths surrounding the house - gorgeous, quiet, some parts are relatively untouched, some elevation - especially the steep walk up from the house).
We visited neighboring towns with other hikes along the way. Spent the most time in Waterbury where we visited Ben & Jerry's, sampled Cabot cheeses, Smugglers' Notch spirits (bourbon for us), Lake Champlain chocolate, and Cold Hollow cider. Fun afternoon! :) We also enjoyed walking around the town, visiting small shops, sipping cocktails at Prohibition Pig, and dining at Hen of the Wood.
Also loved our day in Burlington, and afternoon at the Topnotch Spa in Stowe where we spoiled ourselves on our last day in town.
The fall views as we drove from town to town were spectacular, as was coming 'home' to our little gem in the mountains each night.
Thank you, Pete and Sandra, for sharing your special place with us and for your wonderful communication leading up to and during our stay!
This was our third time staying here over the years and we just love it! It feels like youâre a million miles away from civilization, which is so relaxing, but yet youâre actually close by to many great things to do. We always go to Warren Falls and The Mad Taco and neither disappoints! Peter and Sandraâs place is a perfect spot to get away from it all. The view is spectacular and the cabin has everything you need. Will definitely be back again!
My partner and I had an incredible time in this beautiful cabin in Duxbury.
It had everything we needed for a quiet, weekend stay. We spent one day hiking nearby Camelâs Hump ( a wonderful Class 3 scramble!). And spent the next day indoors while it rained, enjoying the beautiful views from the bedroom and living room. We cooked and baked, and opened up some great cans of beer from nearby breweries.
Best of all was the easiness of checking in and out with Pete and Sandra. They were remarkably generous and kind towards us. As well as very prompt with their communication. We hope we can come back soon!
Our stay at this cozy cabin was amazing!! From the moment we walked in, we felt right at home. The cabin was spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable, with thoughtful touches that made our stay even more enjoyable. The warm, inviting atmosphere was exactly what we needed for a relaxing getaway. The host responds very fast if you have any questions. You can walk down the road and find the most beautiful brook. The sounds are amazing. We are definitely planning to be back a second time!
