We got a big room at Elkotel for our family of 5, 2 full beds 1 full-size sofabed. Good size room for a short stay, it has a desk in case somebody needs to work. Only problem was the bedroom door being really difficult to close. There was breakfast in the morning which was yummy and convenient but not enough healthy/ protein options and the water for coffee/tea/oatmeal, which came from a water cooler with a hot button, was lukewarm at best.

We just had a bad experience with our room . When we said we wanted a room without pets because in the lobby four people were checking in and each of them had one to two dogs. I do have allergies. I was told upon registration that there was a pet friendly hotel and there was no pet free rooms. I was disturbed by this because it did not state that in a description of the hotel. It did say it was pet friendly but a lot of hotels say that they did not say it’s all pets. I was assured that the rooms were thoroughly clean since there was no carpeting. They were mopped and all hair removed and everything else. Upon arrival in the room, I spilled part of my glass of water. The pond going to wipe it up and put out the hairs on the floor. And then under the couch was a plastic spoon. No way paper basket in the bathroom, curtain was partially on this couch bed type thing. It was obvious the room had not been finalized in cleaning. One hand towel in the bathroom one wash caught in the bathroom. I was told there was only one ice machine in the hotel on the third floor walk in end of the hall out of order sign. Called down to the desk. There is one on the first floor. Went down there and got ice. Bottom line after two hours we removed to another room because also the television did not work. They had painters in there and apparently they unplugged the cable. Other than this hotel has been remodeled is very modern in the rooms are lovely.

Can't recommend...

Terrible stay, we won't return. -We arrived at 9pm and waited 20 minutes for the front desk to be able to see us because of a long line. (one staff needed to walk to each room and see if it was ready for each customer) -We were then told our room was not clean and needed to wait until it was cleaned. (the gal at the front desk was very kind and helpful). We waited another 30 minutes -When we arrived to our room it was VERY dirty and VERY rundown. Kitchen/Bathroom counters were visibly dirty, floor was dirty (especially under the beds), the nightstand had crumbs and dust on it, the lamp shades were ruined: full of cracks, the walls were scuffed and full of marks, one corner of a wall was missing chunks, the door to the hallway was severely damaged and cracked along the inside ledge. The pull out bed and pillows were filthy and there were no linens/blankets, I called the front desk and requested linens and they said they would send them...they never arrived. So we squished into a small double bed. The shower head was broken, the shower drain was clogged and the shower collected inches of water, the toilet paper dispenser was broken, the toilet took 2-3 flushes to actually flush. -The hotel lobby was visibly dirty, needed to be mopped, dusted, the windows were dirty. -The hotel hallways were dirty, some doors were missing placards. This hotel (or at least the room we were in) needs a deep cleaning, updates to walls/paint, new furniture and fixtures and better management.

Everything was fine but the lobby needs a refresh. As a non-smoker, the lobby smelled like cigarette smoke. Otherwise everything was fine. The staff were pleasant.
