Blue House by the Bay - Spacious New Home on 1+ Acre Scenic Wooded Lot

Be among the first to enjoy the Blue House by the Bay, a new construction home on a 1+ acre wooded lot on one of the most scenic roads in Door County (located just north of Ellison Bay). The Blue House is spacious and immaculate. Walk to hiking trails or to the nearby Garrett Bay waterfront park (for lake access and spectacular views). The Blue House is away from the crowds, yet just a short drive to Ellison Bay and Sister Bay.

The Blue House is new construction, so everything is clean and new -- you will be impressed (an incredible value since it just recently opened up for rental). Over 1330 s.f. with 2 bedrooms (plus an office/den and laundry room) and 2 full bathrooms. Both bedrooms have queen beds (brand new mattresses and bedding). The highlight of the Blue House is the spacious open concept kitchen, dining and living area. The large living room with fireplace and 50" smart TV is amazing, as is the huge kitchen and dining area (with lovely views of the woods from the large windows and sliding glass doors). Central AC and heat to ensure you are always comfortable, and a new washer and dryer in the laundry room. The kitchen is very well stocked with just about anything you need. The beautiful outdoor areas is wooded and private (you are nestled into a forest of maples, birches and cedars). An outdoor fire pit, patio dining area, and a gas bbq grill ensure you can enjoy the birds and trees in your own private outdoor paradise.

Less than a 1/2 mile walk to the Garrett Bay waterfront park to enjoy lake access and views. This is the same park where most of the kayak trips launch from since Garrett Bay is one of the most beautiful spots in Door County (with shipwrecks, bluffs, and endless stone beaches). At the park you can sit down by the water and take in one of Door County’s most spectacular views. Or you can take a swim, skip stones, or launch your kayaks. There are also lots of hiking trails nearby, and you are just down the road from Door Bluff County Park and its spectacular bluff top views and hiking. If you like to get out on your bikes, there is no better spot.

Enjoy all that Northern Door County has to offer form the Blue House. You are only a 3-minute drive to Ellison Bay, 5-minutes to Gills Rock, and 10-minutes to Sister Bay. In Ellison Bay there is the Wickman House restaurant and Island Orchard Cider, and Newport State Park and Seaquist Orchards Farm Market are not far. Gills Rock has the Shoreline restaurant (and amazing sunsets) as well as the Washing Island Ferry, Charlie's Smokehouse, and boat rentals.

And there is no better place to enjoy the Fall colors, as the Blue House is in a forest of hardwoods and so the magical autumn colors will literally surround you. Or if you’re looking for a tranquil and snowy winter getaway, this is a great choice; enjoy the unsurpassed beauty of Northern Door County blanketed in snow, and the Bay covered in ice, or just enjoy relaxing around the cozy gas fireplace.

This was the third time we stayed in the Blue House . It is very comfortable, close to restaurants we like, and we enjoyed the fireplace on a very frigid weekend. We only wish the door had a keypad, getting the key out of the lockbox on the tree was a bit challenging, given the weather. Daisy the dog gives it a four paws rating as well!

Ideal get away in Door County

Lovely and very clean house fully stocked with linens, soap and kitchen items. The location in a wooded area was peaceful and beautiful. Perfect for people who want a quiet vacation, since it is a bit of a drive to the popular towns with shops and restaurants. My only concern was the lockbox for the housekey that was difficult to open. Other than that small detail, the property was wonderful.

The Blue House - an Excellent Choice!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Blue House. It has been lovingly and beautifully decorated and made us feel totally at home. All our needs were provided for and the woodland setting was quiet and restful while be easily accessible to all that Door County has to offer. We heartily recommend this lovely vacation spot.

Well Wooded Lot Away from Congested Areas

We've stayed in Door County a half dozen times or so over the years and this property was by far the most private. It's on a well wooded lot with mature trees and a 10 minute walk to the waterfront. At the water you have a great view of Gills Rock and the end of the Peninsula. You're only a ten minute drive from Sister Bay and five minutes from Elisson Bay. You can easily enjoy all the have to offer while feeling like you've gotten away into the woods. The residence has everything you would need for a stay. Whether you want to cook all your meals or eat out each night, you'll be set. Like all properties in the area they're on well water, so if you're city dwellers like us you'll probably want to bring plenty of bottled water. The owners were very accommodating and communicative.

Winter Getaway

This is the second time we have stayed at the Blue House. The house is very comfortable and we enjoyed the fireplace and cozy atmosphere on this cold weekend. There are good restaurants nearby, the dog enjoyed her walks, and we generally had a relaxing getaway.

Beautiful wooded lot, clean, great location

This location was so great for kayaking and all the really gorgeous places in the upper part of the Door. The house was very clean with well-stocked linens and kitchen. We had one issue with the air conditioning--it was fine, just a circuit switch outside that we didn't know about--and the owner was super-prompt and helped us resolve it very quickly. One suggestion I might have for the owner is to consider using the office space for another small bedroom. We came up with our family of three, plus my child's friend, and it would have been great to be able to set up a cot or have a Murphy bed or something in the office so they didn't have to share sleeping space. Also, maybe one more chair in the living room would be great. We didn't really use the outdoor spaces because we were gone a lot, but they are great. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful home in Ellison Bay

Our family visits Door County twice a year and this year we stayed at The Little Blue House in Ellison Bay. This house is perfect for a small family, with two spacious bedrooms and an office for work. The in unit washer & dryer was very convenient. The kitchen is enormous with all the cutlery, pots and pans needed to make a lazy morning perfect for breakfast at the house. The woods that hug the home slow you down and make you breath in much needed fresh air. We love Door County and loved our stay at The Little Blue House. We will absolutely stay there again.

Beautiful Vacation at Ellison Bay

Beautiful vacation at Blue House by the Bay! We brought our two dogs and had a great time! Well-equipped with all the essentials including a fire pit and board games for a rainy day. Peaceful area within walking distance of Garrett Bay and a short drive from local restaurants and shops. We will definitely come again!
