Grand Staircase and Bryce

We liked the central location for all we planned to do in southern Utah. Driving in and out on UT-12 is a bonus. The property is older but well maintained and kitchen had all we need to make dinner at night.

Quiet and Comfortable

We loved our stay here! It was spacious enough for kids to play, and it was just overall a great home base for our Escalante/Bryce/Capitol Reef adventures. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we appreciated the laundry soap.

Day hikes in grand staircase

Great house, large well stocked kitchen, large dining room for group meals. Spacious master suite. House location provides easy access to “hole in the rock road”. The day walking distance to Escalante outfitters for great pizza!

Escalante appropriate

Perfect place to base from for everything near Escalante. Walk to the two or three resturants/pubs/coffee shops in town and the grocery store. Its clean, plenty of room and has what you need to make a meal and wind down after a day of adventure. We did the slot canyons, Bryce, petrified forest, Devils garden in our short 2 night stay.

Charming Home

Our stay was great. This home is large, clean, well equipped, and the neighborhood is quiet. If you are looking for a place to stay in Escalante— I highly recommend this home. The VRBO description and pictures are accurate.

Great location for canyon hiking

Very comfortable and spotless-clean house. Extremely well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds for exhausted (not so young) hikers. Nice little porch for all 4 of us to relax chat, and enjoy a cold beer. We were joined by a neighborhood friendly cat who we massaged and fed her a can of tuna. Plenty of hot water for showers or even a bath. We had a brilliant time in this area.

Comfortable and accommodating for the whole family

Such a fun destination and a very comfortable and spacious place to stay. The home was clean, the kitchen had the staples, and there were even games to play for the kids! Very much enjoyed our stay! I did reach out to the property manager with questions about the kitchen in advance but never heard back, so we came prepared with the things we assumed might not be there. Despite that, we highly recommend the stay!

Southern Utah getaway!

We were looking for a relaxing home base to cook, play games and recharge between our daily adventures hiking the amazing landscape in Grand Staircase Escalante. This was the perfect spot! Spacious and clean with all the amenities of home.

Very convenient to hikes. Small town but has grocery store, restaurants, gas station. House is 1 street off the main road. Owner supplies all you need. Will recommend for all visitors.

Nice house

We enjoyed our stay. House was clean. Beds comfy enough. Big kitchen and dining and living room made hanging around, cooking and eating pleasant. The closet in the big bedroom fits a pack n play baby bed perfectly. A few thing were older and showing there age (screen doors, vertical blinds) which doesn’t bother me as long as I’m not charged for it. We liked the charm of the town and house. Great location for peek a boo and lower calf falls hikes. Great pizza at the outfitters.

Large home with lots of room. Plenty of supplies (towels, tp, paper towels, etc) available. I hate when rental homes only give you toilet paper for 2 days - not a problem here! Good location, easy walk to several stores/places to eat. Be sure to get sandwiches for hiking at the Mercantile & Natural Grocery (will customize too if you order the day before). Amazing pizza at Escalante Outfitters. Great Spring Break trip, but be ready for hiking in the mud if you visit in the Spring.

Callam Cottage - February 2021

House is clean & very well provisioned. It is perfect size for a group of 5 or 6. We all said we would stay there again. One addition to the house that would be nice is an outdoor firepit since the owners justifiably don't want renters to use the fireplace. We commented that we would have enjoyed sitting outside around a fire to star gaze & enjoy the clear Escalante evenings.
