Feathernest on the Lake is a peaceful, lakefront retreat with seasonal* dock, located in the quiet Fawnskin area of Big Bear on the north shore of Big Bear Lake. The forest is your back yard and Ski Areas/Village are only 15 minutes away.

The Space:
FeatherNest on the Lake is a charming 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, 750 sq. ft. cabin that sleeps 3, sits directly across the street from Big Bear Lake and boasts a fantastic 180-degree view and seasonal, private dock(mid-April through mid-September). This home is designed to be the ultimate escape from stress! Unplug from gadgets and connect with each other and nature. You will not find a TV, phone or internet here (though your cell phone will work just fine!). What you will find is serenity; in the sounds of the waves lapping the shore, in the sight of waterfowl in flight, and in the amazing views of the lake and surrounding mountains and forest. Pure Heaven!

As you enter this newly updated cabin, you will be welcomed by the fun lake decor, beautiful pine ceilings and large windows that let you enjoy the view. There is a cozy fireplace in the Living Room, a comfy chair and a sleeper sofa. A second seating area is located under the windows so you can relax and read that bestseller or just admire the view.

The fully equipped Galley Kitchen is the perfect place to prepare a meal after a day of lake fun. You will have everything you need here at FeatherNest. Enjoy that meal or your morning coffee at the dining table that faces the lake view, or take it outside on the fabulous second story deck and take in the sights and sounds of nature on the lake.

When it is time to settle in for the night, you will enjoy the luxurious queen bed and rustic ceiling fan in the woodsy Bedroom. An AM/FM radio clock with Ipod port will be perfect for your favorite tunes. A Full Bath is nearby for your convenience.

Ready for some lake fun? FeatherNest boasts its own private dock directly across the street (available mid-April through mid-September). Do some fishing, birdwatching or rent a boat from a local marina and have it conveniently parked and ready to go when you are! Have your own boat? Launch it at the nearby boat launch and you`re all set! If you want to take in some nature, the National Forest is directly behind FeatherNest and there are several designated trails nearby.

Bed linens were sandy and had to brush sand out of bed our first night

The cabin and location are excellent, the advanced info and check-in, good. When notifying property owner Laurel after my trip via her direct email about the dirt conditions, she never replied. However, when submitted through the VRBO site about the bed and other dirty conditions, I asked for a cleaning fee refund and the reply was, "if you would have contacted us about your issues while you were there we would have gladly taken care of them. We have never had any complaints in the past so this was new to us." Aside from the poor customer care regarding the issue, we had a great trip.

Awesome lake view

We had a great time in this cozy cabin. The view of the lake was fantastic and we were within easy driving distance of Big Bear Lake City. We enjoy hiking and there are many trails to enjoy here. We recommend this cabin very highly!

Everything was perfect, the cabin was nice and clean. We found a little sled in the backyard, it was fun going down the hill. We didn’t have to go tubing ☺️. The lake view was beautiful in the morning and in the evening. The only down side to this cabin is the location, it was hard to turn into the driveway. All the cars drives fast on that street, even when we had our signal light to turn. It was also hard to back out of the drive way because of the fast cars driving on that street. Other then that, we loved the cabin 😄.

Beautiful lake view

If you are looking for a peaceful and quiet time at Big Bear Lake, PLUS an unobstructed view of the lake, look no more, because you’ve found it. This a a beautiful property, it’s very clean, it’s updated, with lots of blankets, it’s got everything you need. No TV, but honestly, during our stay here, there was absolutely no need for such distraction. It was lovely to get up before sunrise and being able to sit on the balcony and watch every second of the sunrise right across the lake. I truly recommend this property. The only noise you’ll get is from the birds chirping in the morning. We very much enjoyed spending time outside on the balcony during the afternoon and have a snack and some reading and studying. We are looking forward to come back and stay here. A very special thanks to the owners for keeping the property in well maintained conditions and making such a memorable wekend getaway. Look no more, STAY HERE!

My boyfriend and I enjoyed our romantic weekend getaway in your perfect little cabin! It was clean and cozy! The Kitchen had everything we needed for my CHEF boyfriend to make me an amazing breakfast! The fireplace was easy to use and made the weekend super cozy and warm! Very comfortable house. Nice bedroom, bathroom, and living area with a lake view.

I live in Seattle but work 2 week stretches in LA. Needed to get away from the LA insane traffic. The drive to this house was amazing and the house was just right for the price. A great place to rejuvenate. No tv here, but I would at least recommend available wifi.
