Lovingly prepared but flagman-house right on the river in southern Sweden's largest

Original Swedish house from 1905 - with all comfort, boat and veranda!

Dear friends of Sweden,

Welcome and hej hej in Finsjö in our little "Banvaktstuga" at Emån. This house was built in 1905 as a signalman's cottage on the narrow gauge railway line Oskarshamn - Ruda by the Swedish state railway.

The railway line was shut down about 1964 and now you can only guess where the tracks went along ...

We found the house in 2010 and fell in love. Then almost gutted and completely renovated by 2014.

The house has with the bedroom converted attic about 75 sqm area. The large living and dining room has a comfortable, large bed + an armchair, where you can enjoy the evening the crackling fire in the fireplace. In addition, a dining area for 4 adults and an infant is present. The house for the contemplative rather generous kitchen offers a fully fitted kitchen with electric oven, ceramic hob and fridge with freezer. This nestles lovingly at the old cooking place from 1905.

The new bathroom has been built according to German standard, with shower with glass partition, and sink. Likewise a towel warmer is ready!

Separately, there is a toilet with sink.

Changing table, baby cot, high chair and toddler chair are available! Consult us before!

The stairs surprised the beautifully developed attic as a spacious bedroom with a double bed (visually separated behind the old chimney) and two single beds. In addition, you will find cots. The outlook through the trees to the river invites you to dream.

A true living area offers a covered veranda. This is with your about 20 m² of space to relax par. There is a table with 4 chairs, and 2 lounge chairs with coffee table to relax ready. Of course, everything in white Sweden style. The stainless steel grill then also offers the kulinatischen frame.

For our children (2 and 4 years) we closed the veranda with a child safety device to the garden. This can be often used. This enabled him to always play relaxed on the porch, without that we had concerns. (For dogs, of course, this is also quite practical ;-))
Alternatively, this parental lock is also there to hedge the oven.

On the porch, we are a small sandbox. In addition, the garden is still hanging a hammock.

In addition to hot and cold running water and electricity ;-) course you will also satellite TV with international channels available.

The beautiful red and white small house located on the peaceful outskirts of Finsjö and is situated on a 1 acre lot with 800 mature trees right on the river Emån. In the Uthus - the garden house - is also wood for the stove, if it is too cold, or the evening just a little more romantic should be :-)

30m behind the house it goes down to the jetty directly on the river. There lies our boat - the "old Swede". Here the angler's heart beat higher - which angler does not dream of a holiday * almost in the river * :-) But also for non-anglers a boat trip over the river and the directly adjacent small reservoir is a pleasure.

- We have 5 lifejackets from 3 kg to 90 kg.

Of course, the campfire site should not be missing in the back garden ... :-)

We have a Mosquito magnet. This is a device that keeps a good part of the mosquitoes away. And it works! Also so close to the water - true luxury for Sweden and already included in the price!

Towels for stay with 4 persons: 40, - €

(4 bath sheets + 4 bath towels + 8 towels + 4 guest towels + 4 tea towels + 2 shower mats)

Final cleaning is payable for € 95, since we want every guest to find our house in the same cleanliness.

We made a conscious decision not to WiFi in the house, so that we truly relax! But in any ICA Supermarket is free WIFI and a coffee shop - ready corner! The next one is at 4 km away!

The region:

Welcome to Astrid Lindgren's Sweden! Just 80 km north is the birthplace of Astrid Lindgren and thus all locations of your stories are easily accessible by car! Wonderful - not just for kids!

Shop:

- The nearest supermarket is in Fliseryd (about 4 km) ICA nära

- In Oskarshamn (about 15 km) is an ICA Maxi (open 7 hours a week 8-22h) and LIDL and ALDI

- The nearest fishing shop is in Högsby next to Karlsson (shopping center on the main street) or in downtown Oskarshamn

Inner cities:

- Oskarshamn (about 15 km) has a small town center and a harbor where you can drive to Gotland.

- Mönsterås (about 25 km) is a very old and very small town.

- Kalmar (60 km) is a very big city with a historical background. On water, you can visit the castle. For us ikea and Bauhaus were always the main goals ;-)

- Eksjö about 100 km north-west between Vimmerby and Jönköping - beautiful old city center! Surrounding gorges with great hiking trails!

- Västervik (about 80 km north on the coast) beautiful port city with City. From here you can make a trip boat trip to a few islands (beginning of the Scheerengarten)

Swim:

- In about 7 km is a very beautiful lake with sunbathing area, jetty, playground, etc.

- Swimming pools are both in Mönsteras and OSkarshamn

- horseback riding, golfing, mountain biking, etc ...

- We discover every time so many beautiful new corners - and try them to collect information material in the house!
