Quaint Florentine apartment located on the first floor of a medieval building called Quarratesi tower-house. The apartment, however, was born in a recent period, following some enlargements made to the original structure but present in its entirety. The apartment is quiet because it does not face the street but has a view of the park of Palazzo Vegni, the adjacent building that houses a university detachment. The park can be visited free on Sundays and is very interesting. It is located 500 meters from the Ponte Vecchio, in a very popular area between Piazzale Michelangelo and the Lungarni, very characteristic even without being in the area of greatest tourist density, with various restaurants, a pizzeria, a very good wine bar, a bar and a bakery. Two independent bedrooms from which you access the kitchen, the bathroom, the terrace and you can leave the apartment without having to cross the other room. Floors with parquet, exposed beams. Complete bathroom with shower and windowed, kitchen with living room and kitchenette, private internal courtyard on the side of the kitchen and a magnificent terrace on the side of the rooms. It can be reached with a walk of about 25 minutes from the Central Station of Santa Maria Novella or by bus. It is located outside the Limited Traffic Zone of the historic center and nearby is the only free parking in Florence located in Via dell'Erta Canina, about 400 meters from the apartment, under the Piazzale Michelangelo. Private parking available without reservation. Free Wifi. Guests will find linen and towels in the apartment available.
Helpful and responsive check in and communication and close enough to the centre of town, yet out of the way from too much noise. Outside terrace was a nice addition,
This was THE BEST travel experience I have ever had! Alessandroâs beautiful apartment was my home away from home for a month and I DID NOT want to leave! The location could not have been betterâŠ..we walked everywhere, every day, including back to the apartment for a rest break. We would throw the windows open to the incredible, peaceful gardens and listen to all the birds and church bells, before heading back out to find a new aperitif and dining spot in the fabulous Oltrarno district! Alessandro was above and beyond a 10-star hostâŠ.5 stars are just not enough! From the moment I reserved, he was great with communication, always timely with responses and never leaving me hanging. We arrived to an impeccably spotless apartment with a beautiful care package, and during our stay were even surprised . with beautiful, wrapped pastries left hanging on the front door! He even took care of getting our cabs ordered when it was (sadly) time to leave. I will be forever grateful for this beautiful experience and to Alessandro for all he did to help make it that way! My daughter and I will DEFINITELY be going back to stay in this beautiful apartment when we go back to FlorenceâŁïž
The host Alessandro is extremely nice and helpful. The apartment is beautiful, with unique balconies and beautiful views. Very close to downtown, 3 minute walk. We have stayed twice and will be returning.
We loved our stay. Alessandro was an amazing host. The apartment was walking distance to everything.
We loved the outside patio areas and the big bedrooms. It would be great for a family of 6.
Alessandro was great, communicates best on the WhatsApp. The apartment was beautiful and very clean. Great location and everything in walking distance. Alessandro was extra helpful and even brought us fresh pastries both mornings.
Alessandro was a perfect host, part of the time I was there by myself and he was so helpful and got back to me right away. The garden area off the bedrooms was spectacular, wild limes, and pomegranate could see from the patio. I just sat out having a glass of wine and listening to the bells ringing. I highly recommend it if youâre going to see the real Italy, itâs not in the middle of all the tourist mob down by the Duomo. Itâs in a neighborhood with fantastic restaurants and a short walk up the hill to the Piazza Michelangelo.
This apartment was exactly what I hoped for my family of 4- and it surpassed my expectations! It is perfectly located on the Oltrarno - a historical hub of artisans, artists, craftspeople- with easy walking access to any of the major and minor attractions. From stazione SMN with luggage, I would recommend taking a cab. Honestly, you would find a wonderful sampling of things to do (incl. foods and history to digest) if you never crossed the river. Our faves: hilly walks with incredible views beginning right behind/near the apt, toward san miniato, forte di belvedere, piazz.le michelangelo, etc; churches/piazzas of santo spirito, carmine, giardino do boboli: many other galleries and museums.
And then, when you have had enough of city energy/people/noise (and because seeing so much beauty all around you can be a lot to take in), you can retreat to Alessandro's idyllic terrace pictured in photos, to reflect on it all. It is lush, green, fragrant, clean feeling- perfect! His place has several little spots, inside and out, to take a moment and enjoy 'living in Florence' for a bit. In the summer, remember to close everything down to keep cool inside (no AC).
Alessandro was a great host! His attentiveness and generosity was felt in every moment, from communication and welcoming wine/Moka coffee to the trust he places in his guests' appreciation and care of his artful, elegant but very functional haven. The best of Italian hospitality. Thank you so much, Alessandro!
The host was very communicative and helpful. He told us about current local events and helped us by calling a taxi to our next location. The place was clean and outdoor areas were beautiful. It was in a great location, away from most crowds but in walking distance to everything. Italy traveler tax not included in total fee.
