Taking it's name from Porta Romana, a well preserved city gate from the 14th century located just down the street, Casa Romana is a comfortable and spacious independent house located in the charming San Frediano district. The area is well loved by tourists and locals alike for its authentic charm, popular restaurants and lounges, and artisanal boutiques. The house is decorated in a modern style and is very well equipped for all of your potential needs. Walking distance to the Boboli Gardens, and just minutes by foot to Palazzo Pitti, the Ponte Vecchio and Piazza Santo Spirito. With its large common areas, the fully stocked kitchen, 2 bedrooms, and 1 bathroom, it can comfortably accommodate up to 6 people. The property has independent heating and air conditioning.
Pros; The water pressure is actually nice!Location is good, 15 minute walk from Ponte Vecchio I wish there was more. Cons:Top tips to enjoy this space better, if you twist the pillows, you canât feel the individual balls of cotton. The mattresses are pretty hard and the one on top is on the floor, you can almost feel the cushion itâs really great! The ac was making a harsh noise due to the air filter being dirty that It could no longer function.Next to the home is a good restaurant, only issue is that the windows can see directly into the home and the window of the bathroom makes it so they can hear everything, time your bathroom breaks accordingly. Maybe some curtains would be recommended. There is a side table next to the couch, itâs actually a broken chair âvery artsy.I guess the mismatch furniture makes it not welcoming.
Nice property. Good location. NO WIFI! Big problem.
Really enjoyed the property. There was a good street near the Carlotta (aptly named) hotel where we could reliably park. The problem was that when I had a (major) hiccup with our itinerary, I didn't have any wifi, and roaming data is not great, nor could my laptop easily use it with the personal hotspot. I had to wait until the morning and find a local library to go to to get things worked out, and ended up missing some important parts of our itinerary.I'd highly recommend the place if it had wifi.
We loved this beautiful apartment! The lay out was great the kitchen and washing machine were wonderful. The location and proximity to bus lines amazing restaurants, and small local grocery store were much appreciated.
The only improvements we would suggest are adding screens to downstairs windows and bathroom to keep the mosquitos out and replace master mattress with something a little softer maybe. Otherwise it was perfect and so charming!!
The best thing about this apartment is the location, it is literally a 10 minute easy, safe and interesting stroll to the Ponte Vecchio and a lot of great restaurants.
The pictures of the apartment suggest a sunny, open Mediterranean feel about the property but in fact it was quite dark and not so bright. As it was, this was a blessing with the weather being so hot, so the apartment remained relatively cool. The beds and bedding could do with an up-date, the mattresses and pillows, whilst clean, were well used. Three of us stayed at the apartment and whilst there's room for six to sleep there, the apartment is too small for six adults, the one bathroom and small kitchen/dining area would be a challenge.
The host let us in early as we arrived well before the check-in time of 2:00pm, which was appreciated but having only one key was limiting and would have been a problem if there had been more in our group.
All in all, this was a nice apartment in a great location and value for money in the wonderful city of Florence.
