Location was awesome - close to everything. The unit was spacious and comfortable and was perfect for our group of eight. The air conditioning worked well, and the beds were comfortable. The stairs didnât bother us - a great way to wear off the spritzes and gelato! Thank you to Renata for your wonderful farm tour and cooking experience. It was lovely to get out into the countryside for a bit, and we appreciated the time you spent with us! Amazing all around!
Excellent location! Step outside the door and to the right and left are restaurants, a wine window, and shops, and just up the street is the Piazza di Santa Croce, and in the opposite direction the Piazza Della Signoria. Plenty of shops, restaurants, and beautiful places to see. Walking distance to many sites (10 minutes to the Ufizzi Galleria, 15 to 20 minutes to the Pitti Palace in the Boboli Gardens). The owner was pleasant and quick to respond when we contacted during our stay. The air conditioning was not as cold compared to US, but we were able to open up the windows and have a beautiful breeze at night. There are a few flights of stairs going up, 72 steps in all, so just be prepared when you first arrive, and you have to bring your luggage upstairs. The location was a wonderful place for our family to stay and explore Florence, and I would definitely recommend a stay at this apartment.
Renata and Enzo were delightful hosts! The apartment is exactly how it is shown. Air conditioning and laundry were wonderful. The location could not be beat! Excellent communication prior to our arrival and during our stay. We opted for the cooking class and olive oil visit at their home in Tuscany. That was a highlight of our trip. Renata and Enzo picked us up at the train station, a 20 minute ride from Florence. They drove us 5 minutes to their home and olive grove. We were welcomed with prosecco, almonds, and fruits harvested from their property. We visited and learned about their home, family, and work. We then had a cooking class with Renata in their kitchen where we learned to make Italian red sauce, homemade pasta, and tiramisu. We then toured their olive grove and factory where they make their prize winning oils. Afterwards, we returned home and had a beautiful meal in their dining room with the food that we made in addition to other delicious bites. It was a very special day, and we would do it again if given the opportunity. Just wonderful!
Location, location, location! We couldnât have hoped to be any closer to where we wanted to visit. But also, just off a main street so not too busy / noisy. Large space - we were six adults and it didnât feel crowded. The kitchen was large (for Europe) and was well equipped - with three different types of coffee makers. Three bathrooms for the six of us was also a fantastic find. The rooms were fine, many didnât have space to unpack and there were not enough fans for everyone. Loved the little outdoor space, a great tea teeth in the middle of the day or for espresso and breakfast. Was a little under stocked - not enough toilet paper or soap in the bathrooms. Communication was amazing prior to check-in, but check-out felts like a different experience. It was easy, just not as friendly! Was very happy with this stay. Would recommend.
Great space used as launch pad to visit Florence, perfect location for chilling out between museum visits and eating. Comfortable living room and lovely furnishings.
Great location, size perfect for our adult family of 7, king beds were a plus, we loved it! Stairs only a struggle for luggage, but rest of time they were no issue (we walked all over the city for reference).
The apartment was conveniently located near the Ufizzi Museum and the Ponte Vecchio. It was spacious enough for our entire group of 8 people. The check-in process was smooth and the owner was helpful when we had an issue with the thermostat.I would caution people that if you have issues with stairs, it may not be for you as it is on the 5th floor with no elevator. It is also along a busy street with noisy people walking by at all hours of the night which woke us up several nights.
This apartment is located within walking distance of all the major Florence attractions. In addition, there is a wine window a few doors down, which was an added bonus. There was plenty of space for our group of 9. There are towels, small bars of soap and shampoo packets provided, as well as additional supplies to get you through the first day or so. If you are staying longer, I'd recommend getting toilet paper, trash bags and toiletries from the local store, which is not far. You do have to take the trash down the street and around the corner, but it is not a major inconvenience. The owner was responsive and easy to deal with. The air conditioning, while not overly powerful, keeps the place cool enough to feel inviting after a day of sightseeing; there are also several fans in the property. The stairs can be tough after climbing the bell tower, but again, not a major inconvenience, just something to be aware of. I would stay at the property again-the location is ideal.
I was so hoping this would be amazing but sadly it left us wanting/needing more. For one, there are 5 floors of stairs that you must climb every time you leave the apartment. THERE IS NO ELEVATOR! Also, the neighbors in the building wanted us to be quiet all the time (even during regular hours).
The bathroom situation is very deceiving the way they have written the descriptions. There are 3 bathrooms, but only one of them is nice. The second bathroom with a shower was extremely small, the shower door was difficult, and there was MOLD all over the tiles. The bathroom upstairs had a tub, but no shower and the ceiling was extremely low.
All the rooms were bare minimum. There were no mirrors anywhere, very little lighting throughout and we asked for more pillows because the ones that were in the apartment were paper thin (which they said they couldnât get more for us).
There is a washer, but no dryer and the washer was filthy and tiny so we ended up having to go to a laundromat. The laundry room was also very dirty and being used as a storage unit.
Basic items, such as garbage bags, hand soap, and items to use for cooking were almost nonexistent. I didnât know that we would have to purchase all this for the space.
Overall, Iâve learned my lesson. Iâd rather spend more and go to a hotel where I will be accommodated for my family needs. Iâve been let down way too much with VRBO.
We loved the amount of space in the apartment as well as it's incredible location in Florence. 5 full flights of stairs was a bit rough with luggage, but certainly typical for the best locations in Florence.
Very good and spacious. A couple of the beds should be replaced and there was definitely a musty oder. Only downside was a request to remove the trash - and the requested drop off site is not near the premises (no near by collection bins). All-in-all, I would stay here again.
Amazing location. Centrally located to everything. The apartment ia on the 5th floor. No elevator. But after getting luggage in on the first day, we really didn't mind. Please read notes...no extra toiletries or garbage bags, laundry detergent, kitchen cleaning items. We were there for 6 nights and had to go out on day one. Also. Only one set of towels. Additional fee for 2nd set. Washer only. No dryer. But with all that, would choose this location again
We spent almost 6 weeks in this apartment. It is very spacious with 5 bedrooms and a loft bed, 3 bathrooms. It is very central to everything Florence, with some of the cityâs best gelato and restaurants nearby. Yes, there are 72 stairs up and 72 stairs down but hey, itâs an old building. Borgo dei Greci is âVillage of the Greeksâ. Renata was wonderful to help quickly with the few things we needed. We were lucky enough to see several parades go down our street for the Florentine Football games held at Santa Croce. The grocery store is relatively close too. Just a wonderful way to spend some time in Florence. Thanks, Renata!
AC went out 4xs in 6 weeks but was easy to fix by resetting AC unit on upper terrace. Hallway carpets need to be cleaned, they take away from all of the great things about this wonderful apartment.
This apartment was exactly what we were looking for on our vacation. The location is perfect, in the middle of everything, centrally located to get to all the sites. You can walk everywhere. The apartment is big and beautiful. We are a family of 4 and we met up with our friends, another family of 4. We all had our bedrooms and plenty of private space AND the common areas are big enough for us to all sit down, talk, connect, play games and eat. We enjoyed breakfast every morning at the apartment and would sometimes bring lunch back because it is HOT in July! We were very thankful for the AC. The owners were very responsive too, as one day the AC went out and they sent over a technician to fix it. We found the beds to be comfortable as we all slept well, and there was plenty of hot water for all of us to take showers as needed, usually in the evening after being outside sweating all dayâmaybe July is not the best time to come to Florence. We absolutely loved our cooking experience with Chef MicheleâI highly recommend. I also recommend getting all your tickets in advance so you avoid standing in long hot lines. There are no tickets for the Duomo so for that go early before it opens to get in line in the shade. Other things to note: there are a lot of stairs and no elevator, so be sure everyone is ok walking up to the 5th floor. Also basic things are not provided. Be prepared to buy or bring toilet paper, napkins, soap, shampoo, etc. not a big deal if you plan to shop for food.
The location was great, a few steps away from Santa Croce and you can pretty much walk anywhere within 15 minutes. The apartment is on the 4th floor with a lot of steps - it was okay for our party for day to day but not fun with luggage.
The house was roomy enough for our party of 10 and the younger kids really enjoyed the upstairs bedroom and lookout. I could see the top of the Duomo from my bedroom window.
My only complaint was that the house was missing some things I would consider essentials (hand soap, dish soap, & toilet paper). There was only 1 roll of TP in each bathroom and unfortunately we ran out early the first morning and couldn't find any thing open nearby.
