The power kept going out on our floor. The rooms are at best sub standard. The area is great and within 10-20mins from the major points and restaurants. The bathroom really stunk and the shower was pretty much inexistant.

Very nice and interesting hotel located in Oltrarno, the artsy, lively area of Florence center, but a few blocks away from the crowds. Location is excellent! The hotel is quiet and has a wonderful history. I would stay there again.

Beware of mosquitoes. Many were in our room in early October. Cleaning and towel changes are provided only every 3 days or so. Elevator does not have access to certain rooms. Otherwise location is great, away from the more busy areas north of the bridges.

The staff was very accommodating and informative. The room was spacious and clean and we had a private balcony as well. Breakfast was included and the courtyard and building are beautiful. Lots of veey good restaurants in the area as well.

Wonderful location in Santo Spirito, walking distance to many delicious restaurants & bars (and wine windows)! Lively streets at night and active mornings from businesses loading in nearby which can be heard from the room but this was worth it being close to all of the sights (10 Min to Boboli Gardens, 15 Min to Piazza della Signoria & Uffizi Gallery). Staff was helpful & pleasant upon arrival, and otherwise we were able to access the elevator & room without needing to check in each time. Keypad access needed after 8:00PM. Room was very clean, shower was very small. Wonderful stay in Florence!

The reality of this property was different than the promotional materials presented. The front desk staff at check in were efficient but not welcoming, as we had experienced at other properties on our trip. It was not "modern". The bathroom had a shower curtain that separated the toilet from the small shower area. There were 2 paper cups as the only amenity in the room. The beds were a foam mattress on a frame. There was no maid service to refresh the room and provide additional "paper cups". We appreciated the ceiling fan to move the air. We did open the windows at night but the street noisy was too much. We didn't spend a great deal of time in the room because we were there to see Florence, but this was definitely the most disappointing accommodations on our trip.

We booked for 4 nights and had a very comfortable stay. We were given a two-rooms+1-bathroom suite with 5 twin-sized beds. Each room opened to a very spacious patio that is shared with two other rooms. The elevator serves only some rooms. The suite came with AC, lots of storage and a mini fridge; a water kettle was provided upon request. Our friends were immediately moved to another room when they reported that the AC in their room was not working. A housekeeping issue we had was addressed immediately. We were able to leave our bags at no charge when we stayed away for one night before returning for the second half of our stay in Florence. It is close to bus stops, and L'Arte di Dory right across is a wonderful restaurant. There are coffee and gelato places on the street and also mini-markets. We would definitely stay here again!

Basic hotel with good location

This hotel is in an old building with a lot of character. The location is convenient, about a 10 minute walk to the main sights and the train station, with plenty of restaurants nearby. The room was quite basic. The air conditioning and fan didn’t cool it much, even on the lowest setting, and there was no daily housekeeping. The front desk staff were okay and provided some recommendations. Overall, it was a decent stay, though the room was too hot for us.

La Foresteria es cómoda, limpia y tranquila. Tiene todo lo que necesitas para pasar varias noches en Florencia. El personal es cálido y amable. Está ubicada en un muy buen barrio, menos turístico pero con muy buenos restaurantes y tienditas cerca. Está a una corta caminata del centro.
