Luxury Sea Cabin Guest Suite - Across from Beach

Welcome to our newly remodeled downstairs apartment, perfectly located across from "The Washout," South Carolina's premier surfing beach. This 1-bedroom suite offers everything you need for a relaxing island getaway. Just steps from the beach, a short bike ride to local restaurants, and a 15-minute drive to historic Charleston, it’s an ideal spot for couples, surfers, beach lovers, and solo travelers.

This spacious 650-square-foot guest suite features a separate bedroom with a king-size bed, a cozy sitting area with a 55" TV, high-speed WiFi with an extender, and a 4K Apple TV ready for your subscriptions and streaming. The fully equipped kitchen includes high-quality cookware, utensils, appliances, and bar essentials.

Your private entrance is located on the right side of the home and includes a shaded seating area and an outdoor shower with hot and cold water. Beach access is just one house away. We provide two folding beach chairs, a cooler, and a soft-top surfboard for your use. However, we do not supply beach towels, blankets, umbrellas, or shade canopies, so please bring your own. Kindly avoid taking bath towels to the beach.

Please note, we are a lively family living full-time in the unit above with an active toddler, infant and a friendly dog. While we respect guests' quiet time, sound does easily travel in this 1963 home. When we travel, the upstairs unit may also be rented to other guests. This listing does not include access to the backyard, dock, or storage shed.

Guests can park on the right side of the driveway under the flag and access the private entrance via the stone pathway.

Just as pictured

This is a great location. The photos of the unit accurately represent the accommodations, unlike other rentals i have stayed at. I would definitely stay here again. There were two things that lowered my rating from a 5 star to a 4 and neither are really the owners fault, but people should be aware. The nearest beach access is washed out and quite precarious to navigate, though it is possible as I did it and I am no spring chicken. The other is the owners do live upstairs and have a toddler who LOVES to run from one end of the house to the other starting very early in the morning. I am not a morning person so this was very unpleasant for me. There was very little noise transfer from above other than those tiny feet that woke me a couple hours earlier than my vacation preference every morning. if you are an early riser it probably wouldn't be a big deal. A final note about a pet peeve of mine, I was in the unit for 3 nights, but only two washcloths were provided. There were plenty of towels, hand towels, and dish towels, but just the two washcloths. I will happily reuse bath towels and hand towels, but never a washcloth. It also seems wasteful to run the washer to clean two washcloths. What is up with skimping on washcloths? This is not specific to this unit, but is a common problem in short term rentals that the owners should correct. These issues were well offset by the fact that the beach was practically deserted on the days i was there.

Amazing location with helpful host

This is an amazing spot for a quick beach getaway. The location is right next to the beach and is on a quieter street but still allows easy access to the main street of Folly down the road. Checkin was easy. The place was clean and comfortable, simple but consistent with the online pictures. You can hear noise from the unit above, but it did not bother us too much. When an issue came up with the toilets, the host was very responsive and came over right away. He went above and beyond to address the issue. We had a great weekend!
