The stay at Holiday Inn was excellent. The room was clean and the staff was beyond helpful. We loved it so much we decided to stay a 2nd night. The staff worked with us to get 2 rooms for the additional night. Only 30 minutes to Penn Station for a day in New York without the high prices of staying in New York. Would suggest this to everyone.

Our stay was short but the hotel served its purpose. We were given instructions on how to take the bus to the city. But ended up asking the gas station attendant for further instruction as the receptionist at the hotel spoke very broken and hard to understand English. Overall it was a pleasant stay. The room was spacious and clean. Would stay again

Very nice hotel close to NYC

Pros: Location, cost, professional/courteous staff
Cons: Elevators seemed a little flaky. They SEEMED to open up even if they were going in the opposite direction from what I wanted. I didn't verify this.
Hotel staff was extremely helpful, professional, and courteous. Ample free parking. I didn't use the shuttle to the NYY game, but would in the future.

Hit and miss - mostly noisy.

Cons: Noisy
Good location and good value for money, but noisy (busy roads on both sides of the hotel) inside and out. Easy to get to Manhattan by bus. Bus station in close proximity to the hotel.

Nice hotel - but only for early risers

Cons: Noisy
The room was wonderful, very spacious and welcoming. The front desk clerk and bartender were both friendly and eager to assist. Beds were very comfortable. Housekeeping ruined the experience by starting their rounds at 6am at high volume.

getting smoked

I arrived at about 8 p.m. on a Saturday. Management insisted all that was left was a smoking room. I have allergies and did not want it. After threatening to sue, suddenly a non-smoking room "magically" appeared.

Not worth the trip

To start off, the staff was very impolite to us when we arrived in the lobby. We tried to check in, but it turns out that they gave both our rooms away because we were ""late"" - however we had already booked in advance and paid for the entire stay online They did not even call us to tell us our rooms were given away, and had the audacity to blame us for being late, EVEN THOUGH WE PAID FOR THE ROOMS ALREADY. We had to book at another hotel in NYC, which was only $ more per room. Refund process is STILL unsettled! Very rude, very unpleasant experience, plus $8+ toll to get into NYC, this hotel is DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE ""SAVINGS""!

That was unfortunate, however, we have undergone quite a bit of changes here since your last stay! A multi-million dollar renovation and a fresh new approach to guest service. We would love to show you the difference! Thanks again for you. Duane H

Right price in the right place

We stayed there in October of 2008 and this was not our first stay at this hotel. This is not a fancy hotel, it is on a very busy highway and there is some traffic noise in the background. The location is very good for somebody visiting NY driving. You start the car and you are on the GW Bridge. Clean, free parking and the price is right too. We have not tried their restaurant other than for breakfast and it was acceptable.

came for a couple nights for a yankees game

everything for the most part was 'ok'. Except the resturant was terrible. We wanted a nice dinner and paid over dollars for a steak that came with 5 beans and 10 fries. The steak was ordered medium rare and came still alive. It was so disgusting I couldnt finish it. I would have said something but our waiter never came back after dropping the food off until the check came which had his automatic $ gratuity posted on it. We were afraid the rest of our stay to ask the hotel for anything in fear that they would charge us on the credit card we left them at the front desk. Don't eat there.
