Blue Agave Bungalow - Your Perfect Spot To Escape The Hustle And Bustle!

Walk through turquoise gates and you have arrived at the Blue Agave Bungalow, to enjoy private moments completely enclosed behind adobe walls. Have your breakfast and coffee while sitting on the front patio to take in the mountain air. You are enveloped by a landscape of pecan trees, yucca, ocotillo and an amazing blue agave. This most inviting 2 bedroom home features 2 baths – one with a romantic claw foot tub and the other with double walk-in shower. Along with the full kitchen, dining area and backyard patio with grill, you may find it hard to leave this amazing home that is a destination in itself.
The Blue Agave Bungalow vacation home in Fort Davis, Texas has 1,300 square feet. The living room looks out onto a private walled courtyard. The dining area is large with pine floors and French doors that open to a second patio. The kitchen has new cabinetry with tile counter tops, a dishwasher and views to a courtyard. The entire property is enclosed by hay bale or stucco walls to provide security for animals, children and privacy for all. Pecan and cottonwood trees shade the yard.

No smoking allowed inside the Bungalow. Smoking allowed on porch only.

Our second time at the Blue Agave. It shown some wear, but everything worked and we enjoyed our stay. Fort Davis doesn't have the tourist trade that it had the last time we were there. Many restaurants and the drug store were closed. Marfa had a good place to dine. We enjoyed.

The home is a good size and the beds were relatively comfortable. It has an open feel to it with plenty of natural light. The basics were provided and overall it was a nice stay. There were a few roaches and the shower needed some significant maintenance/deep cleaning.

The house is fabulous. I was disappointed at first as I thought it was closer to town; however, I walked to town one day and found it to be a shockingly short walk. I’m almost 70 and I easily walked from the house to Lowe’s grocery store and back.

Perfect Place for Us

Just spent four great weeks at Blue Agave Bungalow! It’s an old house with lots of character and very comfortable. Especially loved the super comfortable beds; the clean, well stocked kitchen; all the windows which make it light and bright; and the large, private yard for lounging - our dog loved it too!Elissa, the property manager, was wonderful! She was always quick to respond and help with anything we needed.We hope to return next year!

This rental was awesome and was stocked with everything we needed. The beds were very comfy. The towels smelled so good, I am very sensitive to smells and end up bringing my own towels but at this cozy home everything was awesome including the nice smell of the clean towels. Thank you very much for sharing your cute cozy home. We loved it!

Beautiful Home

Very clean and updated home. Close proximity to town. The only drawback is there isn’t much left in Ft Davis. We traveled to Alpine to eat and shop.

Close to our favorite things

We have been to Ft. Davis many times and this was our first time to stay at this property. It was perfect for what we needed with easy access to the state park, the fort, and McDonald Observatory. The host was very communicative and helpful.

Great stay in Big Bend Country!

We used the place as a base to explore Fort Davis, Alpine, and Marfa. Went to Star Party at McDonald Observatory as well. This is a great location and the house is just a few blocks from downtown Fort Davis. House was great, even better than described online, and central air was huge blessing when temperatures hit 100 outside. Not much to do in Fort Davis though. And most of the local restaurants either close after lunch or are out of business altogether. That said, this was a great location as a base. We stayed two nights and then headed to Big Bend for the remainder of the trip.

Sunset Home

The house was comfortable, clean, and well-stocked. Sunsets from the back patio were especially enjoyable. Although near a state highway, it is a very quiet location. The shower could be improved by the addition of grab bars or at least a slip-resist bathmat because it has a very slick floor. Addition of a wine bottle opener in the kitchen would also be desirable. Those are literally the only things we found wanting.

Great place

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at the Blue Agave and like the last 2 times it was an absolutely wonderful experience. Very comfortable cottage that is very well maintained. Really appreciate the owner letting us bring our dogs. Not too many place allow that in Fort Davis. We will return again. One concern was the lock box that the key was in. We got the key out just fine but we could get the key back in the lock box or reinsert the lock box. So I had to leave the key under the doormat when we departed. We also noticed a few dead roaches every morning. No live ones just dead ones. These are minor details and would not prevent us from returning. We look forward to our visit next year.

An Oasis

The home was spotless, thoughtfully furnished, and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking. The front porch, behind the adobe walls with the cool grass and breeze was our and our puppies favorite place to enjoy the evening and the spectacular stars.
