This was a very nice hotel in an area that was convenient but has become even more rundown and safe with drunks, sex shops, drugs and dirty streets surrounding it sadly. As a single woman, I felt unsafe at all times of the day coming and going to the hotel.

Solid Stay, But Be Aware of Room Differences and the Area We stayed here twice during our trip: once at the beginning and again at the end. Overall, the hotel was clean, the rooms were quiet, and it delivered exactly what you’d expect from a Hilton Garden Inn. The staff were professional, and the amenities met all our needs. That said, the rooms are a bit inconsistent. Both times we booked the same room type, but the two stays were quite different. The first room (on a higher floor) was spacious and matched the photos online, while the second room (on the 2nd floor) was noticeably smaller with a different layout. The online photos seem to show only the larger rooms, so keep that in mind when booking. If you’re new to Frankfurt or the area, the neighborhood might come as a surprise. There’s a visible homeless population nearby, and while we personally didn’t have any issues, it might make some travelers feel uneasy. When walking between the hotel and the train station, I recommend sticking to Kaiserstraße and avoiding Taunusstraße. Overall, this is a decent, well-run hotel with all the amenities you’d expect from Hilton Garden Inn. Just be mindful of the surrounding area and possible room size variations when booking.

One block away is the red light district, with open homeless and drug use. The breakfast was awesome. But coming up to lobby afterwards, I slipped and fell hitting my head on the floor and injuring my neck, all because the housekeeping guy, left it wet with no “caution slippery sign. He did have a sign out where he was currently mopping, but forgot to put in the main area. After I feel he did put one out, but no apologies or anything. I would have taken it to the Manager, but we were late for a tour. Best tenderloin steak I’ve had in awhile, but they couldn’t see to get simple hamburger order right the following night. Desk staff is great, but the rest appear under trained.

The hotel is great, but the street is on is not the best, and it's slightly further away from dining and attractions than other hotels. The great rate and nice breakfast did overcome this. One elevator out of service some minor inconvenience.

Great hotel - questionable surroundings

The Hilton Garden Inn (HGI) is an excellent hotel. The rooms are spacious by Frankfurt standards, the staff is very friendly and helpful, the facility is well maintained and the internet was flawless. I have only good things to say about the hotel itself. (As an aside, this is my first stay at this particular HGI in Frankfurt. I have stayed at the HGI located at Frankfurt airport FRA above the railway station several times, and can recommend that HGI as well.) All that said, the local neighborhood of this HGI is questionable. Between the HGI and the rail-station (about a 8-10 minute walk) is the Frankfurt red-light district. I was accosted more than once by street people and people-of-the-evening. In every direction other than towards the train-station, the neighborhood is just fine. The HGI borders on the downtown business district - and that is just fine. I did not dine at the hotel as I typically will shop locally. As you exit the front of the HGI turn right and two blocks on the right (on the corner) is an excellent small market open until 11:00 pm. Running is fairly good. Again, as you exit the front of the HGI, turn right and go about 5 or 6 blocks and you arrive at the Main river. There are bicycle-walking-running paths on both sides of the river with several bridges across the river.

i was here for 4 days for work so wasn't in the room a lot. the bed was comfortable and the walk-in shower was nice. it was a good walkable area with restaurants and bars nearby. we even walked to the train station on the last day which was close.
