Welcome to Barnside Hangout on Hummingbird Lane, a cozy studio nestled beside one of three barns on our expansive property. Here, you can immerse yourself in the tranquil countryside ambiance, surrounded by our friendly farm animals and the natural beauty of our location.

Barnside features an inviting open-concept design with an adjustable king bed, a queen sleeper sofa, and a well-appointed kitchenette equipped with a mid-sized refrigerator, microwave, and coffeemaker. A wall-mounted TV offers entertainment options. The bathroom boasts a spacious walk-in shower, a small closet, and a large vanity. Outside, a covered sitting area invites you to unwind with outdoor seating and a gas firepit, perfect for enjoying relaxing evenings.

Feel free to stroll down our paved private road, where you may encounter our Nigerian Dwarf goats (Phoebe, Rachel, Monica, Emma, and Joey), dorper sheep, angus cattle, and perhaps some of the native wildlife that call this area home. You can also relax by our pond, feed the fish, and witness breathtaking sunsets.

During your stay at Barnside, you may see us caring for our beloved farm animals or overseeing our children's 4-H/FFA projects in nearby barns. We prioritize your privacy and strive to ensure a peaceful atmosphere throughout your visit.

Conveniently located just 5 miles northeast of Fredericksburg's renowned Main Street off Knoop School Road, and less than 8 miles via scenic country roads from the Texas Hill Country Wine Corridor, our property offers a secluded retreat accessed through a private gated entry and a picturesque drive lined with post oak trees.

Highly recommend this place! Very clean, and has everything we needed. They had shampoo/conditioner & body wash in the shower, Q-tips and cotton balls, coffee and cream, water prepped in the fridge, wine glasses and opener, - the list goes on. We enjoyed waking up to all of the animals and the peaceful surroundings. We were only there for one night and didn’t get in until late but I wish we could have stayed longer. Would definitely stay again!

Cozy and beautiful

I booked this for my in-laws and they absolutely loved it. The house is absolutely adorable and so cozy. They loved their stay! The owners were quick with responses. My in-laws accidentally locked themselves out of the unit and they had someone there to unlock it in less than 15 minutes. I highly recommend staying here!

Barnside retreat

We had a very peaceful, relaxing stay at the barnside hangout. The host was great on communication and the living spaces were nicely done and well appointed with everything we needed. The outside was wide open with views of the sunset over the ridge and the full moon in full view.

Such a lovely place

This was our 2nd visit to Fredericksburg but 1st time staying at this beautiful place. Everything is as pictured but once you arrive it's more than you can imagine. We loved the peace and quiet and most definitely the scenic views. Thanks Kerrine and family for allowing us to stay at such a welcoming place. We enjoyed the animals too. We'll be back soon.

Best of Both Worlds!

We loved the country, small town feel on a property that was only a 10 minute drive to all of the places on Main Street. We are more suburb people, and the place gave us the country experience while having the perfect size space to relax and hang out after a day of shopping and tasting wines.

Clean and quiet place

We came to Fredericksburg on a busy weekend and hotel prices were very high. We found this place at a reasonable price and it is much nicer than staying at a hotel. It was comfortable and quiet, had everything we needed and was clean. It was cool walking out the door and seeing deer grazing. There were also baby goats which were very cute. Would definitely stay here again and bring my daughter, she would have loved the animals!

Highly recommended, you won't regret it!

My husband and I planned a last minute weekend in Fredericksburg for our anniversary. This place was so perfect. It is on the outer edge of town but close and convenient to all the places we wanted to go. Enchanted rock one way and town the other way. It was peaceful with the evening sunsets by the pond where we fed the catfish and viewed the stars. During the day there were adorable baby goats that greet you each time your out. The cabin was clean and well equipped with all the necessities, the bed was really comfortable, the decor is welcoming and the room spacious and cozy at the same time. You will not be disappointed here. Lovely family and very responsive to communication.
