The Cottage is located in the heart of Galveston.

This is an amazing and historic townhouse duplex with living, dining, kitchen, 1/2 bath down, and 2 bedrooms, and one bath up. Off street driveway and garage parking! It is located in the center of the City, just 6 short blocks to the Seawall, the beach, bike rentals; and 11 walking blocks to The Strand Historical District with boutiques, gift shops, restaurants, attractions and night life. Directly across the street is the Bryan Museum, which has one of the largest collections of historical artifacts relating to Texas and hosts many fun and informative events.

I can't say enough good things about this experience, our First with VRBO. The Home itself is clean, well maintained, well appointed and has lots of labelled supplies. It is central in the city and close to the beach and the Strand and across the street from the wonderful Bryan Museum. The central air conditioning was already on and the house cool. in August. Most importantly, the host is prompt and thoughtful with their detailed communications. All was in order for this retired military senior and his wife of 49 years. We can highly recommend it. Thank you.

Not as expected,disappointed

I was disappointed in the cleanliness and overall lack of care for this property, and it was much more expensive than it should have been. Everything is dated and much of the house felt grimy (i.e., yellow stained doors, grime in the shower, ac vent hanging half down from the ceiling, etc.). I even fell out of the dining room chair bc the leg broke. The photos, description, and price of the house should better reflect the condition of the home. In their defense, the property managers of this house have asked for a description of all the areas of concern to address them. I hope they do! If you stay here, just know that’s it’s outdated and not as clean as vacation rentals tend to be (at least based on my experience). The best parts of this property are the easy check-in/out, well stocked with towels and games, and location.

Great for our stay. We did not use the kitchen, but great to have. easy check out. Having laundry available was nice. Bed was comfortable and a/c worked great for middle of July as it was hot outside and a/c was able to keep up, even up stairs.

Wonderful location to Seawall as well as the Strand. Perfect size home for 3to 4 guests.Super comfty beds soft linens and plenty of extra blankets if needed. Through the garage out the back door an outside shower perfect for rinsing off prior to going inside and also so you don't feel sandy more than necessary.. win win.Owner very communicative kind and open to requests.Full kitchen gas stove fullsize refrigerator. Awesome water pressure. A gesture of chocolate chip cookies greeted us on the table.Access for single car garage use. We felt safe and welcomed here. Hope to rent again.Thanks for your hospitality.

Asks for additional payment after booking

3 weeks after booking paid in full someone on behalf of host asked for additional payment which was 2 days after 100% refund period which seems odd they waited until then.After stating I was not going to pay and wanted to cancel the reservation was advised they would cancel the request for additional payment. Did not feel confident in the host's ethics and way of doing business. This is a duplex that has an odor to it. The air return vent was very dirty. Traffic is steady in front of the duplex you hear clearly inside. Check out process from host messages and paper instructions in the property contradicted how to handle towels. Will return to Galveston but will ensure nothing to do with this property manager.
