Excellent stay at the western on quick 2 day trip to Galway. Centrally located, comfortable, pleasant basic hotel. Super friendly staff, helped secure a fan as weather was very warm and no AC. Convenient parking below hotel.

We arrived in Galway for our two night stay there. Weather was warmer than usual so a fan was brought to the room. Tub was quite high to get in and out of.no walk in shower Breakfasts were very good . Bar was enjoyable as well and a great location.

The Room was incredibly warm and humid, despite the hallway and outdoors being significantly cooler. Window didn’t open more than a cm, bathroom fan didn’t work— creating a very unpleasant warm and humid bedroom. Black mildew on shower curtain, towels felt cheap and hardly dried. Building also going through a renovation which was not made known to us until arrival. Day two of our stay had the strong smell of spray paint and our room even smelled of it into the wee hours of the night. Certainly will not be staying here again!

Good location

The hotel was a little difficult to navigate, however our room was lovely (even with the noisy bird outside the window). The room was a bit small, but the bathroom roomy. The reception area was too small—not convenient for several people to stand to check in. My husband enjoyed the restaurant and bar. Hotel was in a great area. Easy walk to downtown. The Jungle Cafe across the street was a delicious breakfast choice. Free parking is offered.

I’d like to give it 5 stars but can’t. Offered an upgrade at registration and took it. But the upgrade was in an ally with too much middle of the night and early morning delivery and work noise. Plus the parking outside the apartment was not reserved for the unit. It rained and we had to walk from the main building. What should have been the designated space was used by deliveries playing their radios loud. Not an upgrade! Otherwise almost everything else was fine. Fix this or alert your guests please.

Great location.. 5 min walk to eyre square and Latin quarter another 2 min walk.. 5 min uphill walk from bus station. older hotel... small rooms.. quaint. new bathrooms, great water pressure and warmth. but small.. older room and furniture. staff SUPER helpful. 110 and 109 was in the front of the building nice view of the street. but over the bar... so could clearly hear the live music at night. fortunately so tired didn't care and the music was pleasant. allowed us to check out at 1pm and prepaid 20E... but they didn't tell the staff so they kept calling the room and checking when we returned if we didn't know check out was earlier. I told them I paid and they apologized. When I checked asked if I could store luggage when I checked out... answer sure!! but after late check out at 1pm. I tried to store luggage.. they said NO we are full. Very annoyed.. So we walked 5 min down to Eyre Square and stored luggage 5E per bag for 24 hours so we could wander Galway for another 6 hours.. don't like it when hotel says they can do something and cannot deliver. Great location.. great staff.. the renovating.. but don't promise things without being able to deliver..

Temple Bar Hotel DUB

This hotel is conveniently located to the Temple Bar area and has a restaurant/bar attached. There’s a grocery store across the street. I would highly recommend it.
