Palmetto Place Exuma
Welcome to our wonderful recently renovated property located in Exuma, Bahamas. A fantastic place to spend time away with family & friends on vacation or business, and to cap it off the property has lovely views of that rich blue Bahamian water.
The space
The kitchen - A space with a great layout, stainless steel appliances, granite bench tops with plenty of space, all you should need to cook up a great meal for yourself or family/friends.
The Dining/Living Areas - A great space with well thought out furniture placement should ensure you have a relaxing time in the large opening plan areas. We hope you enjoy the Bahamian style wooden furniture!
The bathrooms - Both ensuite and the main bathroom are full sized bathrooms. They both have showers, toilets and hand basins, the only difference being is that the ensuite bathroom is fitted with a fully tiled stand in shower and the main bathroom has a shower over a large bath to cater for everyone. The spaces are well laid out with fresh looking white tile work and granite counter tops.
The bedrooms - All 3 bedrooms are fitted with handmade wooden bed bases which are painted white and are super sturdy. All bedrooms have some form of Bahamian type furniture to keep with theme. New flooring throughout ensures the bedrooms are well presented upon arrival.
Outdoor Areas - We hope that most of your time in Exuma will be spent enjoying the wonderful beaches and scenery that the island has to offer but the property also provides you with a wrap around type decking with wooden furniture. The property has a fully enclosed seating area which is a nice place to relax without the sun!
Interaction with guests
We're available 24/7 to assist you with anything via phone or email. If you require anything during your stay we will do our best to assist you depending on availability.
Other things to note
A couple of things to be aware of: - Be expected to have bugs/insects make their way inside from time to time, especially if doors/screens are left open after sunset.
Good clean property. Host was very responsive. Location was out the way and required a car to go anywhere. Local community water pressure was almost non-existent at times.
The property was somewhat distant from our main interested area, but have no complaints.was clean, well maintained, and the kitchen was awesome.
The price of admission was a very good value. Will definitely stay again.
Thanks much

Spent the week between Christmas and New Years here with my wife and two sons. Everything was as represented. However, as a previous reviewer wrote earlier, âit is a bit off the beaten path.â Thats kind of an understatement.
We arrived late in the evening on the 26th after a series of flight delays. Had we not been fortunate enough to hop in âZelmas Taxiâ we would never have found it on our own. When we told her the address she immediately responded, âI hate that road.â We soon found out why. Lets face it, all the roads on Exuma are a pot-hole fest anyway, but this one is a special case. However if you rent a jeep or SUV, after a day or two you get used to it and it adds a certain off-road charm to the experience.
Back to the house. As I titled this, it is clean and comfortable. The beds are great, the kitchen is fine and although the couches are a bit thread bare in parts they are large and comfortable as well.
The only downside was on our second night a random guy knocked on our door looking for âmatchesâ so he could eat. He was rambling and semi-coherent and wouldn't leave. Iâm a big guy and I have a son who is an offensive lineman in college standing beside me so nothing came of it. When he wouldn't leave I simply shut the door and called the police - who never showed by the way. The guy finally left and we had no problems after that. I just chalked that up to a bizarre third world moment.
All in all, the house is a great value for what it costs. Its not luxurious, its not near the water, its not near George Town and it requires a 4WD vehicle but it is clean, comfortable and well equipped. We had a fun family vacation and enjoyed our time there.
A little tricky to locate, but eventually got directions ftom the taxi driver that was referred in the welcome email. Very cosy environment with a rustic feel. Entire family enjoyed our stay and was happy that we did not stay at a typical resort/hotel. Location is private allowing for a true get away.
Palmetto Place is a little tricky to find the first time, but that's because its just a little off the beaten path, in a nice quiet place. The road to the house is pretty rough, you will need to drive slow, and it wouldn't hurt to rent an SUV if you have the option. But the house has everything you need for a great stay, including good AC and a nice kitchen. The house has a gorgeous open floor plan that makes hanging out with your family/friends really enjoyable. We really loved the place and I definitely recommend it!! One thing to be aware of...the water pressure is not high--a problem on most of the island. So showers require a little exercise in patience! But not really a big deal. Three nice bedrooms with comfy beds, two bathrooms, what else do you need?
