This beautifully appointed single storey cottage with its delightful sea and countryside views is over 100 years old and has lovely feature stone walls reflecting its history. As its name suggests, Gardener’s Cottage was the former residence of the gardener of Ardmillan Castle located just over a couple of miles from Girvan in Ayrhsire. 400 years ago the castle was described thus, “The Castle of Ardmillan looked like a palace with its deep cut ditch, its large courtyard, its capacities for siege-standing, its early pears and apples.”  Originally a fishing port, Girvan is now a small seaside resort and during the summer it is possible to sail around local landmarks on the lovely paddle steamer, the Waverley.



While the garden is totally enclosed, there is a pond and hens in the vicinity of the property.

Absolutely amazing! From check in to when we reluctantly left it was fabulous. Anne and Jim are the most welcoming hosts, nothing is too much trouble. Recommendations for the surrounding areas and just lovely to have a chat with! The cottage itself is beautiful, so comfortable and clean. Quirky decor and lovely added touches. The bath is to die for! Deep and long and so peaceful. The gardens are fabulous, our dogs loved the wide open front garden and we loved the beautiful back garden to sit and have a cuppa whilst enjoying the varied array of plants! The main bedroom is so lovely with the patio doors which just adds to the experience. As mentioned the main bathroom is delightful as is the en suite. Kitchen is really well equipped and spacious!. Beach within walking distance which the dogs loved!! We had an absolutely amazing week and we can't wait to return! Highly recommended.
