The Neighborhood:

Queens Street is positioned between the pedestrianised shopping thoroughfare of Argyle Street and Ingram Street, where youâll find many of the cityâs high end boutiques. Buchanan Street, the centre of Glasgowâs âstyle mileâ is less than 5 minutesâ walk away and the cityâs main covered shopping areas of Princes Square, St. Enoch Centre and Buchanan Galleries are all within easy reach.
âBoasting the UKâs largest retail phalanx outside London, Glasgow is a shopaholicâs paradise. The âStyle Mileâ around Buchanan St, Argyle St and Merchant City is a fashion hub, while the West End has quirkier, more bohemian shopping options.â
Glasgow is a city famed for its music scene, having spawned the likes of Primal Scream, Belle & Sebastian, Mogwai, Franz Ferdinand, Orange Juice and Chvrches. In the Merchant City you have some of the cityâs best known music venues on your doorstep.
A short walk away is the renowned Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA). Also within walking distance are the Barrowlands, the Royal Concert Hall, Briggait, City Halls, Old Fruitmarket and the Tron Theatre. Further afield venues such as the SSE Hydro, SECC, Emirates Arena, Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome and Hampden Park can all be reached by bus or local rail service within 25 minutes.
For those looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of the city itâs a five minute walk to the banks of the Clyde and the wide open spaces of Glasgow Green are only a kilometre away. The Greenâs 55 hectares of space includes the Peopleâs Palace, Winter Gardens and two large childrenâs play parks. And of course Edinburgh is less than an hour away by train.
The apartment is situated very centrally in Scotlandâs largest city and the surrounding streets have bars and restaurants that are open until late. Therefore on occasion there can be noise from the street below, and this is more likely on weekend evenings. Please bear this in mind of you are sensitive to noise. Both bedrooms are located on the upper floor of the apartment.
Getting Around:
The apartment is located in the Merchant City area of Glasgow within five minutes walk of Queen Street Station, Argyle Street Station and the Subway. Central Station and Buchanan Bus Station are also within walking distance. It is easily accessed by car turning off the M8 at junction 15 (Cathedral).
There is no dedicated parking with the apartment, however short term parking is available on the street outside. This is metered 8am-6pm and free out with these times. For longer parking there are NCP, Q-Park and other options with walking distance, please see parkopedia for suggestions.
The flat was so very convenient to all things central city and subway/train station. It was across the street from historic building and lovely views of grand architecture so close by. Spacious enough for a family of four and or four adults, en suite was a bonus. Kitchen was adequate for quick meals and large refrigerator and washer/dryer were a real plus. Whether short stay or long one this place will serve you well.
This is about the perfect location to stay to visit downtown Glasgow. Close to the train center, bus station, and taxi stands. Nearby shopping. Premises were ok for a short stay, but bed mattresses were poor, there were problems operating the dryer, and had problem with using shower in main bathroom. Landlord was responsive and personally came to resolve immediate issues. Well used apartment that could use some touching up, but didn't impact the stay.
Our first visit to Glasgow. The location was perfect for exploring the city. The check in was a bit complicated but got it figured out. The elevator was a luxury. We felt secure in the busy downtown location. The apartment was small especially the bedroom with the en suite bath. The amenities were lacking- no toilet paper on arrival and no coffee pot. Luckily the coffee shop next door was friendly. But it was warm and linens were clean. Glasgow is a vibrant fun city.
