We had an amazing stay at Grand Harbor! The place was adorable and Eric was quick to respond and very accommodating. The location was perfect! I would suggest looking at the pictures to make sure the space meets your needs before booking. We felt safe and loved being able to walk to all of our destinations.
A bare bones stay for a bare bones place. At least it is a nice location very close to downtown and the water. The accommodation is generally just above passable. The bathroom is WAY too small, cramming everything in an impossibly small space with no storage. The toilet seat kept falling off and the shower head was cheap and difficult. The kitchen has little equipment with an uneven range and lack of utensils and equipment. There are insufficient pans to cook any meaningful meal, and the can opener was totally useless. The bedroom/studio area is okay but poorly laid out. The bed was very comfortable, but when you shifted just right it sounded like the headboard was going to snap. Thereâs no nightstand to put anything on and few power outlets. There is no thermostat, so we froze a bit. At least itâs a relief from the heat in summer. Cleanliness was okay, but I saw some dust bunnies on the floor and ceiling fan.The dining table and chairs are awful. Sitting is uncomfortable and the our knees didnât fit even under the table. The table might be better used in the kitchen as its current spot makes the futon kind of unusable, relegating the only sitting area to the bed, which isnât ideal for long periods of time.Thereâs many doors to get in to the house and room, and they all are wiggly and loose and the knobs make your hands stink like metal.Overall, Iâd recommend this only if you are in a pinch for a couple of nights. Not good for several days worth of a stay.
The location is very nice in that it is within walking distance of the riverfront. But the unit was small and not very cozy. The bathroom was very small and the shower would get the floor of the whole bathroom wet. It could be better for the price.
Eric at Grand Harbor Apartments is an amazing host. We stayed here 3 nights 4 days and we were in town during one of the worst storms of the season. Just as the storm ended, I hear a knock on the door and Eric had come to check on us to make sure we weathered the storm okay. It was very much appreciated and that was how it continued the remainder of our stay. He checked in regularly asked if we needed anything. The space was comfortable clean and we had plenty of room for both of us and all of our stuff. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to make a meal. All you have to do is bring groceries. They even have toiletries provided in the bathroom. You are one block off of Washington St, which is the main downtown street. You're one block away from the waterfront on the River so everything really is within walking distance, and yet still a quiet area. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you are staying in Grand Haven for one night or more, check out The Grand Harbor apartments and Eric!
