Everything about our week long stay at Coconut Beach House was perfect. The house is ideally situated to take in the views, the beach and the breeze. We listened to the ocean every night as we went to bed. The house is well equipped and has plenty of room for gathering together or lounging on the amazing screen porch. The gardens are beautiful as well. This is a wonderful retreat for people who want to be off the beaten path.
We loved this place. If you have an eye for detail you're going to notice that this property has been optimized to such a degree that you can tell it has been honed everywhere.Lots of space inside and out. Huge wraparound deck. Sitting area and an easy path to the beach on the ocean side. You're also a quick few minutes over to the dock area, which is on the inside, and from which there is a little beach area, from which you can walk in either direction for more beach or wade out into the flats. We kept finding ourselves here to catch the Sunsets and I was out in the mornings tossing the fly rod around trying to score a bonefish or two. Loved it.I'm going to address the road in, as I see others commenting on it. It is pretty rough, but we had no problems with it, did it in the dark a few times, no problem. I guess for us, we wanted a remote location and this is it. We also came to the Abacos originally for some sense of adventure and that still drives us, or maybe we'd be on Grand Bahama or some other anthill of tourism. No regrets on our choice.I'd plan 30 minutes to get to the Green Turtle Club and 40ish to town. We had no issues, took our time, understood that the price of going to a remote location on a remote island is that your 2 lane highways are in the rearview, and planned accordingly. It's probably a good idea send a list ahead and to have the place stocked for you. Other than that, which I thought about but didn't do, (my fault), we loved it.
This house and property are so unique. You have to take a pretty bumpy road to get there, but it's worth the effort. The grounds and view are lovely, and you can easily swim or walk to a couple of awesome snorkeling spots. The house itself is wellâappointed, clean and very comfortable. There are lots of spots both indoor and outdoor to cozy up and read a book or just enjoy the view. There are also lots of extras, like indoor and outdoor games to play and lots of fun quirky decorations throughout the house to look at. The kitchen had everything we needed, including an air fryer which really comes in handy with all of the leftover fried food you get on the island. We had five adults, and we all agreed that's probably the maximum you would want in the house âmainly because the two guest rooms have to share a bathroom, and that can get pretty crowded. Next time we'll probably just leave one bedroom open. Overall we loved our stay and can't wait to come back. We've been coming to GTC for over 10 years and this quickly became one of our favorites. Kudos to the owners for making it so cozy and welcoming!
A lovely house on a beautiful site. The views of the ocean are awe-inspiring and it was a wonderful space to spend Christmas with the family. On top of that, an idyllic beach is just steps from the back door. It merits being a high-end rental.
We did encounter issues during our stay, however. Hence 4 stars. The washing machine broke a few days into our stay. The caretaker did her best to get it fixed, but she had to order the part and the repairman had to fly in. Being on a remote island during the holidays slowed this down, and the repair didnât get done. This was a serious inconvenience, as we had to wash clothes by hand.
Also, the coffee maker stopped working. And you could smell the septic system in the master bathroom, which was gross.
Another note: The home sits at the end of a long and very bumpy road traveled by golf cart (the primary means of transport here). Weâre familiar with the island, so we knew what we were getting into, but it turned out to be more of a drawback than anticipated. Initially, the road was an adventure and a callback to the way Green Turtle used to be. By the end of the stay, it was a PITA. It affected our activities. On New Yearâs Eve, for example, we ended up staying home because no one wanted to deal with the road. It was especially hard on my elderly parents. If we stay again, we would likely rent a boat for our entire stay. This would make it easier to get around the island, but it still wouldnât solve the problem of traveling at night.
I canât say enough good things about this beautiful property! We had such a wonderful family trip for my parentsâ 70th and my youngest daughterâs first birthday. We felt like we had the island all to ourselves when we were on the property. The beach is beautiful and the property gardens are so well maintained. The artwork all over the house makes this place unforgettable and so special. We really loved being there and canât wait to come back!
We spent 6 nights at this island oasis at the north end of GTC. The house itself was in excellent condition and we had no issues with the AC or electricity while there. The views are amazing and the location is ideal for those wanting privacy. Itâs an adventurous golf cart ride from the Green Turtle Club down a precarious âroadâ, but the drive is well worth the effort as youâll be rewarded with a beautiful home with manicured grounds and your own private beach. The boat dock is only a few minute golf cart ride away on the Coco Bay side and easily accommodated our 26 foot boat, although be aware that the channel to the dock gets VERY shallow during low tide. We enjoyed watching the hummingbirds in the yard and sharing dinners at the large table each night in this spectacular home. Like any place in the islands, there were a fair number of spiders who also resided at the house, but they were no issue for our crew. Despite itâs distance from town, the golf cart ride really wasnât too long and had lots of interesting views along the way. We highly recommend an afternoon at Pineapples, Sidâs Groceries for supplies, diving with Brendalâs Dive Shop and the breakfast or lunch at the New Plymouth Liquor Store (itâs actually very reasonable and delicious). Overall the house exceeded our expectations and was the ideal spot for us to snorkel the reefs, head out spearfishing or lobstering from our boat, head to Manjack to feed the stingrays or visit the swimming pigs at Big Oâs.
Della and house owner were amazing! Both accommodating and accessible. We enjoyed the house. Very clean. Screened porch to enjoy the ocean breeze was relaxing. Boat dock was a plus. Only cons were the no see ums and the road to house is super bumpy for a golf cart. Made going to town a chore! Thanks for a wonderful vacation!
This home is lovely⊠spacious, secluded, well-appointed and the essence of the Bahamas. The dock on the sea of anaconda is breath taking. You can spend an entire day there just laying on the beach and snorkeling. We stayed at the house with our kids and in laws, a total of 6 people and it was more than enough space. The house is beautiful and extremely comfortable. The only down side is it is far from town and we were there with other families so it took a long time on a very rough road to meet up with others. The day we were leaving, the power went out and the generator never kicked in- we made a big point to find a home with a generator for this instance.
We had a great time, and the views are unbelievable! The owners are great and full of info if you need anything, just ask! The house manager is so friendly and helpful, and is on top of anything you might need. Thanks for sharing this fabulous home!
We had a wonderful time at Coconut Beach House on GTC. The home was in great condition and set up perfectly for our family, including our dog, who's new nickname is Bahama Benny. He loved taking the short walk to the beach as much as the rest of the family. The property manager, Della, was great to work with and always available. We'll definitely be back!
Our stay at CBH was great from the start. We met Jennifer at the dock and she drove us to the house and explained everything about the island and then went into very detailed information about the house we rented to make sure our trip and stay at CBH was as comfortable as home. Will definitely rent this beautiful house again. My husband and I feel the location is the best spot on the island.
If you want to stay in the Bahamas and be close to town but just far enough to have privacy this is the place. Cold AC, very clean, private beach., great owners and property management.
I would highly recommend this place. A golf cart and boat rental is a big plus.
Private dock is included
We really enjoyed our time at this home. Itâs a perfect place to relax and have fun. Thank you for everything. We will be back!

We are a family of five with 3 teenagers, and were very happy to find this "out of the way" house on the beautiful Green Turtle Cay. It is a bit bumpy driving the carts on unpaved road to the house, but that is only ~ 5 minutes of the road, the majority of the time going to/from town is on nicely paved roads. The house is well stocked, and opening all the swinging doors creates an awesome nature feel, especially as you listen to the waves crash on the nearby beach. It is not right on the beach, but an easy walk to the ocean side. The bay side is an easy 1 minute golf cart ride away, and then there is the public beach (which we liked very much!) was only about 1 minute away as well, and typically we had all places to ourselves! The beds are all super comfortable, and there are all the commodities you might need, including all the kitchen ware, linens, etc., etc. Due to rough weather we didn't get to use the dock/slip, but it is extremely convenient if you have a boat. The free cart included was a great touch, and Carol Jean was easy to work with. One ding, there was no gas in the outdoor grill, but that was a very minor inconvenience. Overall, we would HIGHLY recommend a stay at this house, and will definitely consider it if/when we return to the Bahamas.
This property was everything the photos show it to be. The view was amazing. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. It was nice to have a private beach all to ourselves. The owners were great to work with. We will be returning later this year and canât wait to stay here again.
The house is in a spectacular location and if anything the pictures and videos can't do it justice. The house manager is also great, the house is fully stocked with all the stuff you need like laundry and dishwasher soap, paper towels, toilet paper... Also, the internet is what I'd call medium speed. Not like home, but far better than we usually see and up the whole time. I wouldn't do serious coding from the house, but you could do a full day's modern office work if you absolutely had to.
A couple things that are nice to know, the house has a dock almost directly across from it on Coco Bay, it's about a 5 minute walk or 2 minutes by golf cart. You can rent a boat for the week and keep it at the dock. There are several uninhabited islands that are only a 10 minute boat ride away that we had to ourselves. Also, there is a beach on the dock side as well as ocean side, and usually if the wind is blowing on one side it's calm on the other. Finally, the majority of the roads on Green Turtle Cay are recently paved and you can essentially floor the golf cart and hit 15 mph or so, however the last half-mile or so to the house is dirt and a bit rough on the hills. It keeps the place isolated, so I saw it as an upside, but if you've got anyone in your party who can't take being jostled around for the last 5 minutes of the drive it's probably not for you. It's about a 25 minute drive into New Plymouth where the grocery stores are, less than 10 minutes to Green Turtle Club which has a restaurant and small (even more than normally) expensive store. The Bluff House restaurant is also a little over 10 minutes away.
Last practical notes; if you want good coffee you need to bring it, we couldn't find much beyond Folgers at the grocery stores, and while there isn't an ATM on the island every single restaurant and store we went to took credit cards so the advice you see online for Green Turtle Cay about bringing tons of cash isn't really applicable any more.
Absolutely fabulous house, property, and location. Even though it was a tad rainier than we had hoped for a few of the days of our trip, rain in a location like this still makes for an enjoyable vacation. We really enjoyed the secludedness of the house, the wraparound porch, French doors, easy access to the boat dock, and we felt Eli and Dianne provided us helpful information about the home and Green Turtle. We hope to go back!
