â This property has special local compliance requirements which include a signed rental agreement, ID verification, and security deposit. We know security deposits are annoying, so to make it easier on you we have 2 options that you can choose between:
Option 1: Damage Waiver ($50) - Have a worry-free stay with coverage for up to $1500 for accidental damage (spills, breaks, mishaps) with no surprise charges. Just relax and enjoy your stay. Coverage up to 10 nights, +$2/day for longer stays, and provided by a third-party insurance company.
Option 2: Security Deposit ($1,000) - Refundable temporary hold that releases after your stay.
To make this process easy for you, we use a secure and very simple, app-free platform called Happy Guest. It is not an app, and you do not have to sign up for an account - it's a safe and secure website. It also gives you a guest portal with all the info about the home and all of my favorite local spots.
Your guest portal includes advertisements with third-party upgrades that you may want to enhance your stay. These upgrades are optional and include: - Early check-in - Late check-out - Kayak rentals - Paddleboard rentals - Baby equipment rentals
This vacation home is 16.4 mi (26-min drive) away from the Greenville-Spartanburg Intl. Airport (GSP) airport, the closest popular airport to the property.
Thought it was a good deal, but got blamed for pre existing stains on the rug. Also the neighborhood is sketchy, and there are super loud neighbors on weekends. House is directly off a main road and traffic noise is LOUD especially when emergency vehicles pass. Which is apparently pretty frequently.
TL;DR: the house is not in an "up and coming" neighborhood by any means. It's a very low-income area that left me feeling unsafe. Additionally, there are significant cleanliness/odor issues and property management had poor communication skills.I stayed here while working for 12d prior to closing on our home. The photos were lovely & I love being near the Swamp Rabbit to run. Unfortunately there are many issues with this home.Firstly, the day I arrived I couldn't access the home with the code provided. Laura, the manager who was supposed to be the emergency contact didn't have her phone on & didn't respond for about 90 minutes.Another issue is the low-income neighborhood. I don't mind a lower-income area itself, but this was to the point I felt unsafe staying there as a woman. I was chased down the street by loose dogs on 3 separate occasions, had men stop in the street across from me to gawk while I was walking my dogs, & even encountered a male prostitute one evening. The last issue is cleanliness. The house was overpoweringly scented with wall plugs, odor-eaters, & a strong cleaning solution when I arrived. After 5-6 days this wore off & there was a foul odor. I found old trash that had been shoved into the bottom of the can with a new bag over it, a moldy coffee maker/dishwasher, and dust galore and spent my weekend cleaning. I brought these concerns up to Laura, but was met w/ a lot of excuses and skepticism as if my complaints were a money-grab.
