My recent stay at One Guadalajara was a bittersweet experience. On the positive side, the hotel has a pleasant appearance and the staff are welcoming and friendly. Breakfast is included in the room rate, and while the menu is simple, the food quality and taste were surprisingly good.
However, there were several aspects that made my stay less enjoyable. The hotel is located far from major shopping centers and Guadalajara’s downtown area, which can be inconvenient for leisure travelers. I stayed for business purposes (4 days, 3 nights), and while the room itself was fairly clean and the bed and amenities were acceptable, the floor was noticeably dirty. I reported this issue to the front desk, but unfortunately it was never addressed.
Additionally, on my second day, I returned from work around 3:00 p.m. to find that my room had not yet been cleaned, even though I had left early in the morning. In most hotels, housekeeping is usually completed around noon, but in this case I had to wait until 5:00 p.m. before the room was ready, which was inconvenient when I needed to rest after a long day.
I travel to Guadalajara frequently, sometimes for extended stays of up to two weeks, and I have experienced better service at other hotels in the city. While One Guadalajara is not a bad hotel overall, this particular stay did not meet my expectations. I would think twice before booking this location again.
